22xx M4 drop tank carbine
I still need to add some picatinny rails on the foregrip bottle cradle, and an oversized bolt handle…but other than that this one is DONE! Thank God!!! I put in many hours of blood, sweat, and tears on this build 😡
Minute of rodent carbine for sure with the iron sights at 20 yards. Best group so far at 20 is 3/8″ with JSB express (14.3) traveling 850 fps.
This is a fun gun to shoot 😀 The reg 2000 psi and I did not even bother to run more than 15 shots over the crony. It keeps the shots within 10 fps range. I’d imagine it gets a TON of shots. Don’t feel like wasting lead to find out! Very light, very comfortable. flip down front sight so you can scope it with the turn of two screws (to remove the M4 carry handle rear sight).
Muzzle brake by Joe at muzzle mack. Barrel crowned and tp mod by Alejandro at AC custom parts. breech by Anthony (yellow forum) Stock adapter/power adjuster by Charles M. trigger group by B.F.D. Bottle cradle/foregrip by 80 grit (don’t aske what it was from…I found it lying in the garage and knew what it would become!). I mounted a sloped picatinny rail in the stock mounting holes (breech) on this one. I tapped the front one to 10-32 (Tagdagger gets credit for doing the first one for me, thanks bro! This one I did myself). Here she is:

I have plans to add three four inch picatinny rails to the front grip holder. One on each side and one on the bottom so I could at least attach a bi-pod.

I think it would look good with a detachable tri-pod to interchange with that front grip…for bench rest shooting, and awing the on-looking,slobbering swine.

Very nice. You should be well proud of that one. Obviously a lot of work went into it and the fruits of your labour is undeniable. Very nice work.
I got that tank and reg used from Joe at muzzlemack. So far it seems to be on point. Pushing the 14.3’s in the 850’s with an SD around 10 fps (18″ barrel). I know of a gent who may be making an improved “drop block” in the near future. One that will put the pin down holes far enough back behind the tube front to put any past concerns to rest. Just to keep an eye on things I put a razor blade slice in my tube where the drop block/barrel band is pinned in place. If it starts to “migrate” forward, I will notice it this way.
I want to see how this one does at fifty yards. Hope to put up some groups next week.

How is the regulator working you got? I bought a Pygmee tank that I think would do really well with that and plugged into my ETAC Condor.

Can’t wait to see it Roach. My next one (if I get the stock to work) is going to be based on a tactical stock I bought from boyds. If I use a 2260 tube (as planned) I will only have to remove a few inches from the stock. The question is will I be able to get the trigger group to line up right? If so, this is going to be a nasty little “tacticool” carbine! 😎

Yes it is truely a labor of love.
I have a great idea on how to put on a AR15 tube handguard on the 2240 set up, so that and extending a rail on the handguard back over the breech, leaving a space to load of course, will be my next one, or I will get smart and just add the handguard to the one I have now :idea:.
I would like to get the Rim magazine, but my computer keeps telling me I do not have the defalut set up right, Packrat sent me something on that , but I could not get it to work or lost it.
I have B&A getting a price for a shortened Disco tube and valve as I write this for the next cash swirling down the drain project.
All in all it is more fun to build up a so called Mrod lookalike than buy one for me.

I guess the best way to try to get some of your $ back on a 22xx gun is to take it apart and sell it piece by piece. Although I made out fairly well on that last foregrip disco carbine I made. I ended up trading for a 2260 plus cash, sold some parts, and when the smoke settled I made around 80.00 on top of what I had in it. If I can’t sell that stainless one I have on the yellow I will tear it apart and sell it piece by piece.

How true that is…..they’re usually folks that have NO CLUE what it takes ($-wise) to build something like this…..I’ve built several 22xx myself, and when I got tired of ’em, and decided to sell- to get money to build something else. well…….I almost ended giving them away, got just a little more than half of what I had in each of them 😥 😥 😥 just the way it is..Like I said , it’s usually folks that are new or just starting out, and they simply don’t have a clue..The “old heads” that been around look at it and say”damn, wish I ‘d thought of that” they buy the stuff and build their own, with their own personal touches 😯
But, you already know that, so no use to linger on the point…Last one I built was “FOR ME” from the beginning…my mini-TSS in.117 at 12.5 FPE…. I just wanted a plinker that I could get high shot count, and yet still use for squirrel hunting if I wanted to…..last time I checked it was getting 134 shots (on one fill) at 12.4-12.5 fpe before it went OFF the regulator…is accurate enough for quarter sized groups at 50 yards-and I
I don’t think I’d sell it for what I in it…it’s just too much fun..and the pellets for it (10.5 Crosman Ultra-Magnums) are $6.97 for a 500 count tin !! Why would I sell it???
I have 490.00 in it in parts and I don’t know how many hours messing with it. It’s hard to sell these “odd” carbines as most people want to give you less than what you have in them instead of more.

LOL Man you never seem to qiut amazing me, you have some good work and some good ideas. Lot’s of shots from one fill in that tank.
