Q:

24 Inch 177 barrel and a 22, 25 cal barrel specs ?

Is a 177 cal barrel the same diameter as the 22 or 25 ? does it use the same hammer and spring as the 22 or 25.

I know the valve has a stiffer spring to stop the gun from dumping. I’m looking to converting one of my guns to 177 using 16.35 gr pellets for long range flat shooting birding. Will be pushing this out in the 1000ish fps area for sure high speed, small frontal area for penetration on feathered pest.

At the same time I wonder if I just shoot a light 22 cal pill at the 950+fps area and knock the crud out of them ?

Thanks guys.

Went out this am, with the wind blowing at 12+mph at 8am … anyway fired off a few shots before my chronograph blew off my truck bed.

Monsters (25gr) were averaging ~945 fps and the Beasts (34gr) were coming in around 885 fps. PW was at 6 for the Monsters and 7 for the Beast. When I get the 24″ barrel and shroud I will test for accuracy at 60 yds, and the winner will be the pellet I use. I’m assuming I’ll be getting another 50fps with each pellet, but that must be tested for sure. — I’m not going to stock both these two weights, the most accurate is the one I will use. I will test in my Career 707 .22 also, but accuracy with the Condor is what I’m after now

If anyone has a rough BC of both these pellets please post, as I would really like to get an idea of what it is ? I’m guessing the Monsters are around .0380+ and the Beast maybe .0400+ but who knows ?

Well out of the 6 plus acers I have it is all woods with the longest range of about 60 yards. That is up in the trees about 45 yards on the ground. All I need is the .22 or .25 in factory mode for my needs. But More power out of them is also fun too :biggrinn:

I took out a sparrow with my stock Talon SS in .22 and at 25 yards with a 14.3 pellet it was a mess. Nothing but a head and feathers. A stock condor SS in .22 would make even more of a mess :biggrinn:

Well my condor SS with a newly purchased 24′ 22 barrel will really make a mess of things. I will be able to get the speeds my SS gets right now (1000+ fps with Kodiaks) l but I can turn the PW down.

Of course an R&L shroud will be on the way ;- )

Continued 9-1-16

Barrel is shipped and should be in my hands this Saturday :- ) … not !!!!! they changed it to Tuesday … I can’t stand the wait ;- )

All cal has the same 16mm OD. Hammer and spring is the same. If you are shooting long range i would highly recommend using regulator as this will help to minimise variation which will cause poi shift. Not a big problem if you are shooting at closer range. 50m or closer.

.177 will not able to retain energy at longer range even with 16grainer. Ull be far better off using 900fps king. Anything over 1000 tends to not as accurate as most pellet would go spiralling. Yes the pellet might has flatter trajectory at higher speed but make sure the group well at any distance

As of right now I’m going with a .22 cal barrel and installing it on my Condor SS.
