Q:

.25 Conversion

I just bought a high flow tank and .25 barrel that I plan to use on my .22 caliber Talon SS. What else will I need to complete the set-up? If anyone has any of these ‘needed’ parts they will part with, please let me know 😀

Thanks!

Thanks RiffRaff, I have placed an order!

If youre talking commercially available pellets, buy Kodiaks first.

If you think you need more weight, go for EunJins, but do not be surprised if the Kodiaks shoot much better.

Dont waste your money on anything else.

If you want something heavier, Jerry is offering some good looking heavyweights that look to be shooting quite well.

Thanks for the info! Yea, I am looking forward to shooting a .25 for the first time. I had a condor for a couple of years and was amazed with the power! I can hardly wait to see what this will do.

What pellets do you prefer? I don’t have a single .25 pellet so I have to order some but, wanted to check with you guys first.

Thanks again!

You can use it as is actually, just with less than maximum velocity. Crank up the power wheel and only fill the high flow tank to about 2200psi to get started.

The .25 will also shoot pretty well with your standard talon tank, just at a lower velocity of course.

Only thing you should need to make the high flow tank work well with your talon now is a heavier hammer. You can: get a Condor hammer weight from AF, or a one piece heavy hammer. For “near zero budget”, visit your local ACE hardware for “machine washers” 5/8″ id, 1″OD. Installing them between the spring and hammer effectively gives you more hammer weight. I used this method initially on mine; starting with two and adding one at a time until I got enough weight for the gun to shoot the way I wanted. This was advantageous as it let me experiment cheaply with different hammer weights. Later on, I weighed my original hammer + the washers to get the total weight of the hammer I needed and made one of the appropriate size.

Happy shooting, the .25s are soo much fun to shoot stuff with 😈
