25 FPE from Marauder Pistol for $12.50 in parts

Note that he says you need to put a poly tube in the pistol first. I contacted GMACcustomparts.com, Gorden looked up the order and found that the spring he ordered was the power spring, with brass rod. I don’t know if the brass rod is needed. Cost is $12.50 with standard air mail shipping from the mother land.
I’ve got a Marauder pistol strip down instruction coming, and I’ll post that here when it arrives. Might make it easier to install the spring.
No…I don’t know what the shot count is. For twelve bucks, if you don’t like it, take it out, put back the original and sell it to the 22XX builders.
However, he has this spring adjusted as follows: “I4 turns in for hammer & 3/4 turn for striker for max power. Turn hammer out all the way & striker in 2 turns for low power. You will also need to change the transfer tube to poly. It’s a bit confusing when he uses a capitol “I” instead of “1”, for hammer adjustment turns, so I intend to change the adjustment there very carefully to see if I can customize my results to the 800 fps range with 18.1gr JSB Heavies.
I see no need to go nuts on power, but if he can get 635.6 fps with 28.5gr Einjins, and 862 fps with 14.1gr CHP’s, I feel pretty good about achieving my goal with the JSB Heavies.

Here’s what I got from the guy who thought it up and put it on youtube:
“The spring is easy to replace just follow the directions provided to change the bolt handle to left or right. Then remove the screw under the end cap you use to adjust your power. It will pull out & reveal the spring. In the video I used a strong hammer spring for a 2240 air pistol. I had to give the spring up for my friends gun & am going to go to the Ace hardware store 1st to see if I can match it up with a heaver spring. The guy there says they have a ton of springs. The only problem is once you start going over 800 FPS the barrel shroud does nothing to the sound well maybe a little but it is sure hard to tell. It is still a lot more silent then a .22 rimfire pistol loaded with low noise primer rounds. You get a higher FPS also with the air pistol. They talk about how the pistol just locks up if you over charge it. I think it is safe up to 5000 PSI So with a strong hammer spring you can charge her up to 3600 PSI I did this for a mouth with no harm done to the pistol shooting one to 2 fills a day. You get 3 powerful mags this way. Most light pellets 14gr & under dont fly well under this much presser. Crosmans always work well. But if you want the most foot pounds over 25 that is. Your gona need 30gr pellets just like .22 bullets. Let me know how it go’s.”
Doesn’t sound too bad. It will take a week or two for the spring to arrive, so I’ll be checking for an exploded view of the Marauder pistol, but I don’t believe it exists yet.

I always got the most FPE out of JSB Monsters in that little 2240/Disco carbine I had. I think I was breaking the 20 FPE level.
If they work in the magazine you should try some, if you don’t have any send me your address I have a few left and no 22.

Damn good research Hoot. I just ordered my spring for ole #6. Will you write up a “how to” later or do I need to do some research on how to install it.
