Q:

.25 Reg Setup

I finally finished my .25. This gun use to be my test platform for .25 slugs and I use to shot it with my 1800 psi reg setup.

Well I finally made it just to shoot JSB’s and kodiacs. It shoots JSB’s around 960 fps. I took out the LW barrel and put a .25 TJ barrel with no choke in it.

Well I found out thru testing a customers slug gun how good a TJ’s barrel really works. He wanted to shoot pellets with it also. So I put my tank on it and went to my friends house that has a RF range. I go there to test. The closest target is 100 yds. Well I was really surprised how good it did. So good that I put one in mine. Golf ball rocks at 100 yds were easy.

I have 4 setups for different fps setups right now.
.045″ TH 890’s
.049″ TH 900’s
.055″ TH 930
.068″ TH 960

Only takes a minute to change it from one setting to another. I will make a 940 setup.

Very Nice, that’s some nice looking machine work!

I hate split and swing shifts! OldGoat finally got his old 2nd shift back. Finally! 😀 But it took some doing and a long time to get it back.

No I have been working splits and last night was a full night. Left at 11:30 am and got home at 8:45 am. Still recovering right now.

Yeah I think it’s at 300 fpe but its cold right now and that takes away 30 fps or so on the .257. Will see when it warms up and I can set the gun in the sun for a while and get it up to 80* or so.

300 FPE??? 😯 Woo-Hoo!!! 😈

Are you turning into a night owl like me?

Yeah it’s a lot of work but it really works. I’m getting faster at cutting the threads.

On the .25 it is really quiet now with the reg. The .257 works good but it is making almost 200 fpe so you can’t expect it to be silent. It works good.

I will build one for new .308 sooner or later. That thing is louder than the Haley on 4400 psi and kicks twice as hard. Got 292 fpe the other day out of it and will be happy when I’m at 300 fpe.

Looks fantastic Doug! But I still think it looks very-very work intensive. I don’t blame you for not wanting to build them!

I sent Cedric a pic of mine. It was very effective on the .25 but not so much on the .257. Just too darned short. (He was going to pm it to you).

But—-It would be a hell of a lot quicker for you to build!

Wish I had a lathe, but only have a mill. I can do the chamber milling to open up between the baffels., Just not the diameter cuts for the fit to the frame and the different baffel sections. . . Nor the center bore-through.

Do you sell vented barrel bushings?

Not really. I make them for guns I build.

Click on the banner up top. Tony has them

Same as my .308 and .257. This is the second one I made and .257 is the 3rd. Added a 1/2″ to both the .257 and .25. Made them even quieter. This one is right around 14″ long now.

Shooting it around 900 fps the thing is so quiet.

Here are some pics of pieces. Might be the .308 but they are the same except for the second piece is longer for 28″ barrel.

Sounds fantastic doug!

The .257 is doing really well. Couldn’t be happier. 😀

Tell me about the CAN=LDC you have on the .25.

Thanks. 62 ci tank.

So impressive. So many shots with 48 ci hpa tank.
I believe if it’s for .22, you will get even more shots at 890 fps.

Just shot the .068″ TH and got 80 shots starting at 959 fps and ended at 940 fps. I’m going to take apart the reg and clean and lube. It’s been together for a while.

H-959
L-940
S-19
AV-950
SD-4

So with the 890 setup I should get130-140 good shots.
