.25 Standard; adjustment from sub 12 ftlb to full power
Hello everyone, this is my first post here 🙂 glad to be a member.
I am from Pakistan and have been a big fan of Matador since long. Unfortunately there is no distribution of Edgun here in my country. A friend of mine will be coming from UK in next month and will bring a .25 standard for me. The gun will be at sub 12 ftlb. Here in Pakistan there are no restrictions on power or caliber so I will be increasing its power to max (930-940 fps). Please guide what all will be required to achieve that ?

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I only ran 30 shots over chrony, because I’m using a hand pump to fill it and I don’t want to be pumping forever. That leaves the tank just over 180 bar. Best I can figure, that will give me a little over 60 shots before it falls off the reg. After I put a 1000 pellets though it, I’ll run some longer strings before tuning it. The only reason I shot over the chrony now was so I could get some numbers for chairgun.
guys I have ordered MTC Genesis 5-20×50 AMD reticle scope that I’ll mount on my EDgun. what do you think of the scope.
Many Congrats, shot count seems a bit less but hopefully it will improve with time. I am waiting for mine to arrive, every day seems like a month.
I just got my Matador 3 days ago. It’s spitting out JSBs’ at 934 average for 30 shots starting at 220 bar. It makes about as much sound as my brad nail gun ( not much ). Nobody in my neighborhood would think twice about the sound, if they didn’t see me shooting it. Also the new single screw trigger is very nice, almost too lite.
From the factory mine was shooting 1020 FPS. Per Ed’s suggestion I left it alone for 1000 rounds and the regulator settled at 950. It’s extremely accurate at that speed with JSB. So initially I was shooting 58 FPE and now I’m at 50 FPE

Also I have ordered a Reg tester which will be here by the time the gun arrives. will update once i get the gun and work on it.
I agree, always try the simplest solution first. Just pay attention to your shot count and string. Huge velocity changes will tell the story if you need to tear into the regulator. You can always PM Ed, he’s really good at answering questions for Edgun owners.

I was also of the opinion about the regulator set to low pressure for UK, but as the manufacturer says in the video that its only the HST that is adjusted. As per my understanding (and it can be wrong) if the regulator is set to low pressure adjusting HST wont bring the gun up to the full power, is that so ?
I will first try and tighten the HST as per the instructions of the manufacturer and see what max fps I can achieve. If it goes up to 930-940fps then surely the regulator is set to 120 or 130 bars whatever is the usual factory setting.
Brother in that same video you will see that Edward talks about HST and regulator efficiency. This is the part where he shows the little hand written graph. You can start with the HST, I cannot imagine that the English version would not also have it’s regulator set at 130 bar. The penalty for a gun going above 12 foot pounds without a FAC is pretty severe. Contact sniperlabyo via pm on this site and buy a regulator tester. My regulator is set at 130 bar (.22) and I have the HST set so that I shoot an 18.1 JSB at 920 FPS.

Thank you very much dear brother for replying. very helpful video you have posted but now my question is that how can i know that at what power the regulator of my gun is adjusted at the moment? and how much i have to adjust ?
the guy in the video said that his guns regulator was set at 155 bars from factory and if you see closely 155 is written on the reg with a marker. Does it come like this with the pressure written on the regulator. can anyone please check their regulator and confirm ?
Also I found this excellent video of the gun maker Eduard. Watch it from 5:45 and he mentions that the guns are set to UK 16 joule pressure by loosening the hammer spring. If thats the case then it will be very easy to take it up to full power as there will be no need to adjust the regulator. Can anyone please reconfirm.
In this video when he disassembles the regulator there is 120 mentioned on it with a marker.

There is a relationship between the HST and regulator. I think videos are easier to follow than written instructions so here’s how to adjust the gun,

Guys what all accessories/parts should i get with the gun for maintenance, the parts that may require changing/replacement. As you know I am in Pakistan so getting the parts later may be difficult and expensive.
