Q:

.25 syn Marauder

I got a 25 Marauder my range is limited to 48 yards, To many people moving in to the country, Oil boom here in Odessa Texas.
Any way , I pretty much have waged war on the sparrows in my area of course I buy 50 LB bags of chicken scratch for 13,00 dollars to help feed the good birds, My feeder is on my back stop of tile bricks, It sets 38 yards from the kitchen window, The 48 yard feeder is set at the rail road ties as back stops. I shoot an average of 15 to 25 sparrows a day five days a week, (wife’s off Saturday and Sunday) and have done this since November 2013 . add it up a lot dead dead sparrows. Cross hairs on the bird and its dead unless it jumps as some do….
I just bought me a Cricket .22 I have heard its more accurate than a Marauder 25… I guess I will have to shoot the left feather off the wing with the cricket,, How much more accurate can it be,,,
LOL just thought I would post this , I mean one hole is one hole right,
Lets see my FPS is 880, with 25.39 Exact kings, The 26 gr Polymag is just a sparrow explosion feathers everywhere, Blows the bird up…
Big mess. Body shots are a must.
I go through a 50 lb bag about every 14 days… Very cheap fun….

Seems like anything i’ve tried for Polymags/Metalmags does not go very well pass 50 yards. As for the 35-50 is spot-on.

Been a while since I’ve been on here! Love the benji. I have a talon tunes .25 benjamin marauder does excellent at 60 yards with ground squirrels. Have yet to try the predator Polly mags been wondering how they do?

My 25 Synrod in stock configuration as received from the factory provides 16 good shots per fill and prints the 25.4 gr JSB pellets in nice tight 1/2 inch groups at 50 yards. I was amazed by 1 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards.

You’ll like the Cricket!!

I have the .25 syn Marauder as well and both are very accurate with plenty of power at your range – the difference will be the shot count as well as the consistency going to the Bug as the favorite.
So you’ll have most shots per bird with the Bug rather than the Benji! :biggrinn:

Cheap fun is still fun! 😆

That’s a lot of power for 38 yards on sparrows. A 177 would do real well and could make head shots on every one of them at that distance. You are right a one holer is a one holer. Can’t ask for more
