.25 test as promised

Well, I finally got the chance to do a little shooting today. I’ve been having a little trouble with consistent accuracy lately.
I finally found the problem. Or problems really. There were several.

One, these guns can be super hold sensitive. Damn!! OK – got that sorted out.

Next. The LED in the breach was rough. Nothing Walt in Hawaii did wrong. It was strictly me. I screwed up and put a nick in the breach. 😯

And Lastly, my new shroud. It was clipping ever so slightly. So slight in fact, that it was only on every 4th or 5th shot. I have strong suspicions that it was more of the air wave going through a little rough more than a pellet touching any thing.

I tore down the shroud and de burred ever thing. There were only very small burrs, but possibly enough to cause a problem with guilt edge accuracy. I’m real picky when it comes to accuracy.

As a side benefit, the deburring took out a good bit of higher pitched hiss when firing. It has a deeper-quieter sound now. I took out all of the felt that I had installed. (Which was basically doing the same thing) Because it was breaking down FAST!!! Man, these .25’s set on kill really put out some pressure!!!

So finally, I was able to compare the accuracy or the .25 Kodiaks to that of the new JSB .25’s. We all know how good the Kod’s are!

Recently I read a post on the yellow that claimed that Kod’s in .25 has a habit of becoming un stable at around 80+ yards due to the very thick and there fore heavier than usual skirt. It does keep them in better shape in the tin, But I can see how it could become a problem at extended ranges!

I have noticed a wobble in the .25 Kod’s at longer ranges, and wanted to test the new JSB’s which have a much thinner skirt to see if there was any merit to this train of thought.

What did I learn? Well, In my gun at least———————————————————————–DAY-YUM!!!!————————————

I have never had this gun shoot this well in .25. Heck, much of any caliber for that matter! T.20 is super accurate, but not at these ranges. the .22 —Same thing. but now, I’m swearing off my .22 Rim Fires. If need a 100 yard tack driver for tree-rats that is any more accurate than this, I will have to break out the .17 HMR

Here are the results. As I said, this was in my gun. I haven’t shot them in the Talon Tunes .25 yet. And all shooting was done on a Bi-Pod, and shoulder mounted, from a tall table while standing. No bench rest, or machine rest. So these could be better!
