Who would be interested in a 70grn spitzer/spire point bullet. Let me know. It may be a dream come true.may be a good bullet for bench/ target shooters. If it does good a hollow point may be next.

OK I’m gonna buy the mold in 3 cavity and have one hollowpointed. Y’all better buy my bullets damn it!

Guys,

There is normally 2 ways of finding BC’s. A base number usually will come from the manufacturer of said projectiles and the other being shooting them over a couple of chronys. Some of these numbers will HAVE to come from shooting over a chrony. hell, the majority will have too…lol! Cast bullets are very much UNLIKE jacketed bullets due to the fact that research on cast bullet BC doesn’t seem to be as important in the PB world as jacket bullets do. I find this strange cause to me, they are both projectiles and they both should have published BC numbers. But that’s just my simple mind thinkin aloud……lol!

And, some of us have different bullets that the other guy doesn’t have. So each person might have to do some leg work with the CHRONY

This will take some time and research and communication between us all involved.

Im going to start of going to one of my Trajectory programs to start the ball rolling on this.

That would be much appreciated Cedric! can’t help but wonder how much a HP would help the spitzers for game. Hummm, and accuracy being effected of course.

Sounds like a Plan RJ!

Knife

Tofazfou, let me know if there is something simple I can do to help and contribute.

Doug,

Hmmmmmm, your on to something there. I can add Ballistic coef. to the 257 page. I will start some “MINOR” research and posting

RJ’s are definately da bomb!
Man if this Spitzer was offered in 70grs??? !!!
I can just imagine! The bullet would stabilize so much better, fly faster hitting the target with less delay time and so much less trajectory. More direct square impacts and less lobbing them in from above!
70GRS?! That would be less weight than the Lyman 257420 old standby!
RJ, do you have any idea what the BC is on the 88gr and what it would be on this 70gr.?
Maybe someone 🙄 might be interested in posting a chart of the popular .257 airgun bullets with the respective specifications such as dimensions, weight, BC and maybe some performance notes such as expected speed and energy, accuracy, destructive performance, difficulty casting…. etc…. Could place it in the .257 info page!
I dunno, just an idea…. Might be a big undertaking…. 🙄
We all arent as talented as others here are at doing such quality research and documenting the experiences! Good opprotunity to contribute something tho-

Nice shooting there. RJ’s bullets are da bomb.

And yeah, spritzers do POKE holes and leave no shock when penetrating through. Headshots only with Spitzers…lol

Ya can probably already guess that I would be right in line for some of those!
If nobody has ever noticed…. I have been very happy with the 88gr spitzers in my 1:14 twist. I can imagine that the 70 grainers flying faster and flatter would really be something! I am sure the fellows would love to see this bullet in a hollowpoint. That is the biggest con with the spitzer is that it just plows clean through stuff. I was plinking at clay pigeons at a hundred yards and was shooting the centers clean through leaving clay rings. Hit a ground squirrel and it poked a clean 1/4″ hole in and 1/4″ clean hole out. Critter ran in circles for about fifty yards before knocking out from shock. Spitzers sure are accurate but not for hunting.

RJ’S 88 GRAIN SPITZERS ALL DAY LONG 100YRDS!
