Q:

.30 Cal Pellets?

I have been thinking of doing this caliber, but have only found JSB pellets. Are there any others out there?

Has anyone around here tried the LW barrel? It is not choked and is 28 inches long. I wonder if the extra length would give a significant velocity increase and how that would affect accuracy?

Speaking of accuracy, just how good are these .30s, 1 MOA at 100 yards?

Guys,

Here is an update on the 30 cal and JSB pellets. THE ST BARRELS ARE ALREADY PROVEN WITH JSB’s so why do we need more?

The same thing seems to hold for PB’s people run all types of bullets and ammo through there gun but DON’T stick to just one. WHY? WTF is up with VARIETY and gun cartridges. Jesus Christ, your supposed to shoot the most accurate and reliable ammo period. Then you learn HOW TO SHOOT the gun. Then when you have to use it, you kill with it. Plain and simple.

So back to the original topic, the st barrel and JSB simply work. WHY DO YOU NEED VARIETY? Why? What gonna happen to game or a coke can if you shoot JSB’s vs BEEMAN vs GAMO 30 cal “DOME” pellets? Lol! Your gonna spend 4 times more money fucking around with what shoots best……that’s what.

The ONLY other variety I would even consider is “MAYBE”, and I say “MAYBE”, some JSB Predator Polymags in 30 cal. But if they never made 30 cal Predators, I would still be equally as happy with only having JSB domes.

With current 30 cal platforms (daystate and FX and DaveG), the weight and size and lenth of the .30 cal pellets are just about perfect the way things are. I don’t want to see any heavier pellets cause that would mean LONGER projectiles and that would change the dynamic of the current platforms and what they and the ST barrels can do. For small game up to coyote, the 30 cal is already perfect. What more do you need I ask?

I am pretty sure the .30 is the new .25. It wasn’t too long ago your choices for .25 were pretty slim, but now there are oodles of them. More and more people are wanting hunting air rifles with serious power. Slowly, but surely the big air rifle companies are making bigger bore air rifles. They get with a pellet company and before long others jump in. I would not be surprised to see H&N come out with a couple of choices soon.

Also, this is starting to be where you can find molds to cast your own.

I think a wide open high flow or Talon P valve could push the JSBs out of an 18″ or 24″ barrel at a pretty decent clip.

We’ll see.

Well, there are two differen JSB .30 pellets. There are also EdGun and FX, along with Daystate. But they are all JSB’s. Some are saying the quality is different between the different labelings. Beats me—-?
