I have a spare valve stem that I got as a back-up that I will let you have for what it cost me ($50). Sounds like yours should be replaced under warranty, but if you want to get going earlier, you can use my spare. (it is the metal/plastic OEM version)

Good question. I have not broke one in 1400 shots on my standard .30 and have a couple spares but they are combo metal/plastic as well. ❓
Have the new Edguns .25 and .30 s got new stronger valve stem ?

Hello Ed. AFAK, the 30 cal R3 rods are breaking here. It is the same place that all of the air valve rods break:
Mamcrackin somehow managed to break a 25 cal R2.5 long air valve rod here:
He super glued the broken end back onto the rear air valve rod steel end and then he shot the gun until he sold it without any more problems.
I broke a couple of rods and the broken rods looked like my first picture. I didn’t EVER get an air valve rod that had the steel end that extended into the Derlin spring guide.

Ed; I want to put my 2 cents in here and I really think that the 30 cal air valve problems would be solved by you making the rear of the air valve rod steel insert extend to the end of the Derlin spring guide. The Derlin spring guide couldn’t break if you did that: I think!
I currently have 4 air valve rods in stock and I am hoarding them until an improved air valve rod becomes available.
For the last couple of years, I have been telling you guys to buy a couple of extra air valve rods: just in case. I also said that you might never need one but: if you broke one and didn’t have one in stock; you would feel bummed out/stupid for not having an extra one.
ASFAK Ed originally designed the Matador as a .22 cal. Mamcrackin and I begged him to make a 25 cal. Ed told us that the 25 cal air valve rod would have a shorter life than the 22 rod did. He was right on that; I broke them after 5,000-7,500 shots.
The 30 cals have been maxed out and the air valve rods seem to be lasting 750-1,000 shots. I was the first US guy to get on Ed’s 30 cal Matador list. I knew that the stock air valve rod would not last long in the gun. I was OK with that as I planned on using it for hunting and if I could get 750-1,000 hunting shots from an air valve rod; I would be golden!
How many people get 750 hunting shots in a year?

I did not get to chrony my edgun .30…..in fact, i borrowed a chrony had it all set up fired my first shot and “click” nothing!!!! I pull the bolt back and a huge rush of air comes rushing out of the breach. Needless to say the air dropped to 220 bar to ZERO!! I just got a shipment of a bunch of tins!!! I’m spoke with Ernest and amazingly he agreed to put it back together for me when he gets the parts. I contacted Tony and he said that he will ship out valve stem and derlin tomorrow. Hopefully this will work out. I’m sure just like everyone else is quite upset that their $2000 gun needs an overhaul after about 1,000 pellets. And if i remember right, “we” were just told to “just shoot it” or “break in the barrel”?!

The only reason mine has not broken yet is I stopped shooting it for the moment at about 1100 shots. It has to be on borrowed time. Can you change the title of this thread to something like “Many .30 cal valve Stems breaking” so Ed reads it? Basically, they seem to have a life of around 1000 shots plus or minus maybe 250. A valve redesign by Ed has become a priority. My standard is set at 875 FPS. Ride’s was 885 FPS I think. What was yours?

I took your words and ordered/got 2 air valves from Ed, only 2 weeks ago,,, i sent 1 to my friend and keeping 1 for myself ,,just in case ,,as you said,,, now i am relax ,,,
but i also would ask Ed to change and convert the Edgun air valves from plastic to metal ,,,just like all Cricket air valves ,,,this will latest for the end of the gun life,,,
Edgun is a durable PCP air rifle ,,, it is not a good news that owners have problem with such small tool ,,,
the eternal solution is only converting the plastic air valve to metal ,,no question ,,,
