Can you enlighting me about this two caliber.
I want to now what is advantage or disadvantage using one or another.
I saw very much about .257 but nothing about .308.

With air rifles and cast bullets, to gain maximum performance you want to stay just under transonic velocity with the heaviest bullet you can shoot.

And I say heaviest so that you will have the best ballistic coefficient you can get.

Right now with the power plants available in air rifles the 257 bore does that best. With a 70 grain bullet I actually have to turn down the power to stay subsonic, so if I go to a 84 grain bullet or a 94 grain bullet, I am still doing 1050 FPS with my Haley 257.

They both work good. I have both in condors.

.257 is a little flatter shooting but that might be because .308 is shooting 118 gr at 980 fps and .257 shoots 74 gr at 1080 fps.

I have shot both at 447 yds in the wind but only managed to hit a coke can with the .257.

At 235 yds it’s not a problem with either.

My new .308 will be around 1040 so it should shoot a little flatter.

I like them both but the .257 always seems to impress me.
