32 gr Samyang Pellets & My Condor
Ordered a bunch of these pellets with hopes that they would shoot good in my Condor. Was skeptical because the pointed pellets generally don’t do well at long distances.
Welllllll…these are shooting really nice in my gun at velocities of 970fps with a fill of 2700 PSI. Threw some pine cones out in the field (actually empty graveyard) behind and off to the side of my yard and preceded to rip them apart from an approximate distance of 95 yards. Nailed a few squirrels with them too at about 70 yards and all you hear is the hammer and then a LOUD bang as they hit them.
Got my CF tank the other day and will be filling up tomorrow morning so I’ll definitely be doing a lot more shooting. Just wish those squirrels didn’t make so much noise when they get whacked.
If you haven’t tried these yet you might want to as they are sweet in my gun.

I have the same issue with my Condor .22. The 28gr EunJins are not very accurate in mine, but the Sam Yang 32gr are much better. I ‘ve only tried them out to 50yds so far but the Kodiaks are still shooting the best – very nice clovers or 0.4-0.5″ CTC groups.
I tried the 28.4 EunJins at velocities between 850 & 1,000fps and I ‘m not having much luck. I ‘ll try cleaning the barrel this wknd, but why are the Kodiaks shooting so well and SamYangs ok?
I still have not had the heart to use the SamYang’s on squirrels.. only Kodiaks so far cause I thought it was overkill.. but I ‘m thinking dead is dead.. why not shoot them with the 32 grainers? It’s in their interest and ours that they expire faster, right? 🙂
I actually found the uniformity of the 32 gr very nice. Had a few malformed ones but overall they were pretty well made. These do cut through the wind nice and drift very little in the wind. I can see why the .25 is so popular since it’s a heavier projectile.
I’ve also been thinking about modifying the tip to get a little more impact out of them. They are over penetrating and slice right trough a 1×2 that I have a 100 yards out not to mention the squirrels. Thought I would pull out the dremel and flatten the top and cut an X in the top.
Fun to do a little experimenting but really nice when you find that right combination that works perfect.
Can someone send some squirrels my way because I’m currently out? Should have never given that baby to the shelter.
I just read and replied to a thread on the yellow about these pellets in a AF rifle last night… He was saying they shot good in his but the 28 EJ’s didn’t do so well. From the gest of what he said the 28gr Ej’s had not been doiung so well in the AF rifles. I always thought they did really good in my Condor and posted to that fact. Not sure he wasn’t just shooting his to fast or what was the case there with his.
Then this morning Yarrh, post something about the EJ’s latest batch not so perfect in shape… I still want to try some of the 32gr. pointed suckers out. The weight of that pellet sure would have a impact if the POI is where you can control it LOL… I wouldn’t even mind trying them if they shoot good to slice the point with a razor in order to get a really nice peel back on impact with them and then see how they do???

LOL…actually it’s a new graveyard that just has a couple of residents in the very far corner.
Forgot to mention how flat these things are shooting and as some have pointed out that the heavier pellets have better range. These are shooting just one mil dot below Kodiak’s at 75 yards (24x scope setting) which really surprised me since the velocities and scope settings were the same for the comparison.

Yeah I understand the weight issue and the squirrels as well as other smaller game, but then the rimfires all shoot a larger bullet, at least the .22 rimfires do. The .17HMR well that is just plain nasty what they do and with a smaller bullet 😆 😆 😆 Got to love those radical 17HMR’s and what they can do. Just don’t use them for meat hunting unless you head shot every shot, which is not a bad practice and good sport…
The .25 caliber… Yes I have been trolling on the plan to get me a new pellet rifle, one with a magazine and a more traditional type of stock. I have bout decided on the Rapid MKII and in a .22, but only because of the better selection of pellets over the .25 caliber, and maybe not being able to shoot the bigger diameter pellets fast as I would like…
I know, not so many different pellets that I really like in the .22 caliber, will not shoot from the magazine, but I can live with that, I just love the Predators and the EJ’s and how they do from my Condor. Not to forget taking the Crowmagnums and sit a .20 caliber perfect round lead ball with a tiny dot of silicone to attach them together. They ain’t fittin’ any magazine, but brother do these suckers shoot good and have some impact when they get there… Were talking shooting turtles off tank dams out to 50 yards with head shots and full body devastation when they are close enough to see the body under the water and take that shot 8) 8) 8)
They don’t cut paper like the predators do but I have yet to see any holes cut in paper like the predators, like you take a hole puncher and punch them in the target 😆 😆 😆
Guess I am going to have to order me some of these 32gr. pellets if I don’t make the Condor into a SS version that I am also playing around with the idea of ❓ ❓ ❓
