3rd Evolution in AAA Condor…
This rifle began as a .251 24″ barrel condor from Tony over five years ago. A few years later I shortened it up to an 18″ barrel .25. Now that I am running low on .251 pellets and completely out of surefire slugs…I decided to let it evolve once more. I had a 12″ .22 barrel lying around the parts bin so I set to polishing the bore and outside (breach area) with K2 polish and flitz. I managed to fix the buggering I did to the valve stem retainer (what happens when you don’t have the proper tool for the job) by running the tip of a drill bit into the opening (ever so slightly). Holding air thus far and I think it will be just fine, and the Valve stem is moving smoothly through the retainer as it should be.
Since I was changing the rifle to a short 37 fpe (Jsb 18.13 gr heavies running 970 fps) carbine…I decided to break out the ol’ paintbrushes and transform the two tone black and desert tan I did previously to tiger style camo.
Once I established that the SD was as it should be I shot a few groups with it and it is shooting the heavies into dime size groups at 40 yards no problem! This is going to be a day wrecker for the next coon that raids the garbage.
Now I have the perfect “one, two” punch. For long range smack down I have my .257 30″ 185 fpe beast. And for short range work and smaller game I have my 37 fpe Condor 12″ SS carbine! Enough typing…I’m gonna set up some shatter clays and set up my mil dots.
