4 shots , one kill …
As you all know by now , I have a R3 long Matador witch shoots sub MOA groups. That was just to bring everybody up to date.
A good friend of mine said that the gun will shoot better and better as I shoot more , and he was right. First groups were between .3″ to .5″ at 50 meters ( 55 yards ). Now, after 700-800 shots, I have .27″ to .35″ groups at the same distance. As being my first airgun , I think I’ve improved along with the gun . Something did improved for sure. I will adjust the trigger a little bit as I am beginning to realize that it’s quite heavy. Ed put the safety first, and I don’t blame him. BTW, Ed was right, around 800 shots and didn’t need to clean the barrel yet. As I will get to that point I will let you know.
When I want to relax I just go out of town and shoot mainly on my red dot .5″ target , at 50 meters. I don’t take shots at birds and pests when they come in my range from time to time, because it’s illegal in my country. Maybe someday I will post some hunting videos of a guy I know, that lives in Italy 🙄
As another good friend said, a gun that shoots just one hole it’s not much fun. So having air for ten more shots but no more fresh targets, I spotted a dandelion just one meter behind my wooden target board, so that became my next target. Took her 4 shots to drop…

First shot. I could see a blade of grass fall, just to the right of the dandelion. Just a 90°, 5-7 miles/hour wind, but it was gusting and therefore unreliable. Nevertheless I tried to compensate in my next shot.
Second shot. I could see the dandelion move from the pellet turbulence but no blade of grass dropped…
Third shot. Same as the second one, only now I’m beginning to get nervous as I don’t know where I’m shooting.
Fourth shot. The dandelion dropped dead , and on her tracks if I may say so myself 😉
On my way to the “kill” I was cursing Ed for the “one shot , one kill” BS, and Hoot for his so called branch shots BS. Just joking guys 😉
I didn’t had my camera with me but I took a picture with my phone… when I saw something interesting .

I didn’t saw blades of grass fall on the last 3 shots, and just the dandelion move, because THEY WERE DIRECT HITS. One hit in the middle, one a little bit on the side, and the fourth shot next to the side one, cutting it completely.
Now THAT”S the way to end a shooting session. My wife certainly appreciated my mood when I returned home 😀
I wonder if I should have posted that on “Hunting” with “vegetarian hunting” as the title…
OFF TOPIC :
Speaking of good friends, I remembered a joke that I hope I’ll write it in a correct, fun way.
Two good friends 😉 went hunting in some woods. At one point , one hunter said to the other to wait a little because he had to take a leak. As he was taking care of business , a poisonous snake came and bite him from the head of the … business. Frightened, the other hunter called 911 and told the hole story to the lady on the phone. The lady said to him that he should tie a rope or something similar above the wound to keep the poison from spreading through the rest of the body(notice the level of education in this joke). The wounded hunter asked :
-What she’s saying , what she’s saying ?
-Stand still as I will tie my shoelaces around your dick to keep the poison from spreading through your body. And no monkey business.
The wounded hunter kept feeling worse and worse, so the other one asked on the phone for new directions to help improve the situations. The lady said that in some cases it helps if someone sucks the poison from the wound .
-What she’s saying , what she’s saying? asked the wounded one
– She said you better start praying cause you’re gonna fucking die, man !
I’m sure there is a similar , better version of this in America but hope you enjoyed this version too.
