4500/3000PSI regulator
I have been wanting a regulator for my Condor, but a few things have held me back, ie.,the length of pull that results and the low velocity of the regulated Condor, it seems we end up with 24″Talon velocities. So the question has risen in my mind what if I had a small 4500 PSI tank with a 4500/3000PSI regulator, a larger volumed reservior on the regulator and a resonable length of pull.
I recently purchased a 4500 PSI 8.5 cuft Air Hog Pyg mee tank. And although it is no longer made, it may be close in size and capsity to make work in that it may be small enough to allow for a larger reservior on the regulator and still be shootable argonomically.
Old Goat really spurred my interest when he sent me pictures of his air Hog regulator and tank. And while it had the qualities I dislike or at least the ones that have dissuaded me from purchasing such a item, it did spur my interest and ideas. But it still used a 3000/2200 or so regulator.
One of the problems with these units as I see it is that there is not enough volume in the regulator, and while 2500 output would with the correct volume propel a 25 to 32 grain pellet in 22 or a 30 to 43 grain in 25 to 24 ” Condor velocities, the volume is just not there to be in the Condor FPS/FPE range, and it is still too long!
Old Goats unit used a modified or what looks like a modified AirForce CO2 sleeve as the regulator reservoir, it has the valve on one end and the regulator on the other end, what if you inserted a short ETAC between the valve and the sleeve, it would take that large tank and move it away from your face to make it more ergonomic for one thing, but more importantly, it would give you more volume.
However if you used a smaller 4500 PSI tank, a 4500/3000PSI angled reservior regulator and you coupled all that with a high output valve, you may get one that somebody other than a NBA Basket Ball star could shoot comfortably, and still have enough volume to send a projectile down range in the 65 to 85 FPE range.
Afterall, we did buy Condors for power didn’t we? Marmotmiltia has said he is having trouble getting the correct 3000PSI tanks, and JDS is saying he has a 4500PSI regulator coming, would this be the next evolutionary step?
I know several people have been thinking about this concept lately, so I thought I would ask the experts here.
So the question is: will a small 4500 PSI tank connected to a 4500/3000 PSI regulator, and a high performance valve like Tony’s or Sean’s or what Dave 424 is working on, with a angled larger longer reservior give us regulated 65 to 85 FPE power?

I have a Condor and I have a Talon. I would like the performance that they originally were designed for, the performance that seperated them into two different platforms of power, and to see if it possible to do it regulated.
I am just asking if it is possible to get that regulated performance from the equipment I described. And to see if a regulated 4500 PSI/3000PSI Platform if feasible
Is suddenly a faux paus to desire 65/85 FPE in a 22/25 Condor?
