5 shots 152 yards, no bags or bipod FX Royale 400
I had just made a splendid shot at 78 yards on a Starling this morning off these grape bins, just holding the rifle in my hands and resting on the bins, no bipod or bags.
I decided to try a 152 yards shot at my target frame. I had a 5 MPH wind, but over compensated by holding 3 mils into the wind, and estimated the drop at 30 MOA when it was in fact 28 AMOA.
The five shots went into 2.6 inches, the top 4 are a really nice group but that lower 5th one screws it up, but considering the circumstances, I will take it.
THe target is just over the 6 Wheel Polaris far bed corner, the wind sock it to the left.

Wow! That’s impressive shooting RC, especially given the range, wind and methods. The starling shot is also amazing; it’s a long ways and a small target…nice!
Good lookin vines, too. Looks like the pruning is done and they’re ready for spring.
I’m a bit worried about our vines. Our winter has been crazy warm, lots of days over 50 when it ought to be frozen solid. Flowers blooming on Feb. 1, along with red maples. We got wind machines and sometimes hire choppers to move air, but if the vines pop too early and we get a late frost, we’re screwed. Last year’s water-laden berries make us hope for a better year, not a frost wipe-out.
Too bad we don’t have the kind of distilling capacity the Italians have; so watery/poor grapes can get turned into Grappa. At least to get something.
