Mine got a lot quieter when I started using three spaces of different volumes plus the -o-rings and washers. It’s a 7″ shroud in front of a 18″. and it does a good job. I used small diameter pvc drilled with holes and wrapped with green scotch bright pad between washers to make different length expansion chambers, which being deadened by the scotch bright pads works a lot like a race muffler. The washers and -o- rings finish out the last couple of inches toward the front.

There are several pics here on the forum of the scotch bright technique. Simple and effective. 😀

i have the spring, washer, oring thing going on. but the thing is still loud

then you should be able to do all the baffling on the internals without having anything come past the frame

on a full 24″ bbl, it would not be as effective as most people want. a 6″ shroud would be good if you had a shorter barrel, ideal with an 18″bbl. I beleive WOK has his set up with a 4″ shroud and a 16″ custom bbl, he can elaborate on that. You generally want the shroud 5-6″ past the end of the barrel for max effectiveness

what size barrel are you running?
