Q:

$600.00 Gamo Whisper

Pyramyd called me today, They found my Whisper 😀 (That they lost in Oct. and replaced with a Talon SS)
After a little conversing I offered to buy it back, the guy put me on hold for about 15 min. (Standard for PA) came back on the line and said ok for $600.00 😯 He said they needed to make up for the loss on the Talon SS.
I passed
So if anyone is interested in a 600 dollar Whisper PA has one 😆

Box up the talon run over it , make sure its jacked up so it bends, send it back for your gun, make sure its insured and all is done. That is so wrong, but it almost sounds like the shoe on the other foot.

Exactly! Check the Dealer BOI section on the Yellow and you can see a lot of complaints about PA. So what, we all still buy from PA. Yes, we think their “sales associates” are incompetent; Yes, we think their shippings are too slow, but we still buy from them after all.

That’s why I was never in that business to begin with because most likely I would end up keeping all the guns for myself including your Gamo 😆
And, you don’t think I’ll be in business for very long? Did you know that there was once a famous gun tuner who lost one of his customers’ gun for two years? There was a big write-up on the Yellow a while back and I think he is still in business and he still claims the BEST in his last name.

I didn’t expect to get the Whisper back for free but come on 600 dollars? I paid $211 for the gun another $40 for a trigger mod, foamed the butt, sanded the casting edges off and paid for a Air Spring $109 …

So, your Gamo with Air Spring installed, is worth … say $360. Would you buy it back for $360? If you do, someone can then say that you get a Talon package deal for $360. You should consider yourself lucky then.

In the airgun world PA is the big dog on the block. They can and will try and turn things around to help them out in the airgun world note you and they can get away with it because they are the dog dog. They will see 5 orders go wrong to 100 go right and still make money. eating that Gamo or saleing it, or setting someone up with a Talon SS is a drop in the bucket for them and they just don’t care…..money is still made in the long run. 😕

If I own a gun shop, hypothetically speaking, I would finish whatever the mod that Rexx was asking for free and then exchange the Talon package back paying all the shipping cost. If Rexx wants to keep the Talon package, then he needs to pay $600.[/quote]

Lose a gun give compensation for the loss then ask for it back after 3 months? 😯 That’s a JOKE

From the beginning they tried to put it on FedEx. I called them It was never picked up.
They lost it in their shipping department. He even told me one of the techs found it in the warehouse
Well if FedEx lost it how the hell did it get in their whse?

…I STILL think PA should just send the whisper to him for free.

They did a good thing for themselves and Rexx by sending him the SS… they are undoing the good will they fostered by expecting him to pay $600 to get his own gun back.

Just want to make it clear – I am NOT defending PA in anyway. They are guilt by all accounts. However, the point I was trying to make is that the $600 that PA was asking for is for the Talon package that Rexx got. It is not the price based upon a Gamo Whisper.

Exactly!

Ever notice how many “used” guns PA is starting to sell? It sounds like this happens a lot.

OH SHIT..LOL…They are going to have to eat that Gamo… 😆 😆 RiffRaff your so right, it was their fault.

Why not? People buy a perfectly good springer, and then have it tuned to the tune of a couple hundred bucks. 😯

PA lost your highly customized Gamo Whisper so they sent you a Talon SS with all the goodies if I read your last thread right. This package

quote :

Talon SS.177
Co2 Adapter
Scuba Refill Clamp with Gauge
Leapers 3-12x44AO SWAT Scope
80 mm Side wheel
Leapers 30mm Rings, High, 11mm Dovetail, See-Thru
2 tins of Beeman Crow-Magnum .177

is worth $600 if not more. IMHO, you were not buying your Gamo back, you were simply paying for the Talon package, weren’t you?
Not to defend PA but to understand your story better…

ya, what riff and maw said…

How bout I pay for the shipping.

THEY needed to make up for the loss?

WTF, it was their fault so they can eat your shiot! Thats called a “write-off” in retail business, I would have told them to pack sand and send me my goddamn Whisper. The talon is “pain and suffering” compensation.
