87 fpe with 22 condor!
Got some awesome 50 gr slugs from john aka johninthecamper. Supposed to be knocking out halloween stuff but couldnt wait. I had to run 2 across the chrony real quick then dig them out and snap a few pics. Waiting on everyone else to get ready so posting the results real fast. Thats a benefit of being naturally scary! Lol
The pic has the 32 gr ej next to johns 50 gr before and after firing. First shot with the tt cf tank at 3400 psi, ttqc top hat wide open, .025 washer under the top hat, 95 gr hammer, 24 in barrel got them up to 886 fps for 86+ fpe. Was just under 87. I think 100 fpe is out of reach without a longer barrel but will be interesting to see what these 50 gr slugs will do. Well till i can get more time to really review them the photo will have to do. The far right is the 40 gr slug also from john and a nice peice of the frying pan it went through like butter.

No sweat dude. Glad i could help. Got her up to 93 fpe now. So close to 100 fpe but starting to wonder how high i can go with 22.

I am running an r&l shroud right now. It works very good. When the guns is set up like it is for 40ish fpe it is very quiet. You had hear the hammer strike and the impact on target. At max power which is just hit 91.91 fpe it is loud still but only about 1/2 as loud as no shroud. The r&l shroud does a very good job. The thing with the shoruds is you get what you pay for and there are basically 3 levels. Bills frame extender, $50 and quiets the gun. R&l shroud $125 i think and really quiets the gun and talon tune shroud, $235 it is inbound and i will do a video review of all 3 for comparison. I also have a decible meter on its way to measure the sound levels. I have the apps downloaded but they dont pick up the sound of the gun.
Yes they sell just the tank also. I was one of the first to order before he put it together with his valve and adapter. Would have waited snd got that set up if i knew it was in the works but no sweat.
I have the talon tune tank adapter on my stock tank and will put it on my cf tank also. Just need to get the set up right on the cf tank first. Also looking into another cf tank for a jds reg setup like salticon did. Jds regs on a condor are awesome setups. Now that we have a shorter tank it wont be so crazy long. My rig with a reg set up was 48 inches long.
Before you mill off the top of your frame do a search of dyotat100 that dude has done some awesome work and done what you are talking about and is a really cool dude. There are alot of people that will help out and he is one of them.
@onebaddj, Thanks for sharing the pic! I did not know that TT sold just the tank alone. I saw it with drop-down and other stuff for nearly $500, so I thought that was how it was going to look. Are you not interested in the dropdown, to get your scopes axis closer to the boreline? Also, do you happen to know if it’s possible to modify the bolt’s cocking knob to be in a horizontal orientation, instead of the stock vertical orientation? If so, then it might be possible to mill off the top of the high scope rail and tap some holes and install a proper, low weaver rail, to get the scope even lower. What kind of buttplate do you plan to use with the CF tank? Also, is that a TT or R&L moderator, and is it quiet?
Not sure on the accuracy yet. Have only run 2 across the chrony for now to see about the velocity. The cf tank is about 1/2 the weight of a standard tank. The pic shows the gun with the cf tank and the stock tank next to it.
@onebaddj, what kind of accuracy are you getting with the 50 grain bullets? Also can you post a pic of your gun? I’d really like to see what the TT CF tank looks like on your Condor. I’ve been debating in myself whether to get the .22 or .25 Condor, but I’m really thinking that .22 will do everything that I want. There is a fellow, in Russia, that’s shooting .22 caliber pressed bullets accurately out to 650 meters !!! Its a talon tunes tank cover. Looks exactly like the fx tank covers he sells also just a little cheaper. Makes a huge difference getting good alingment on the scope.
