90 Shot String from R3 .22 Standard – 200 Bar Fill =)

But here goes another one!
This one is from my one of the latest R3 .22 Standards.
This one is from 200 Bar fill. I thought it would never start dropping! Damn 90 usable shots for hunting and 70 shots with maximum 7fps spread! :7:

As I can see from your string that if you set your reg to 105Bar than you can get 880fps, and probably a 100 shots easy.
Add the total FPS of the first 80 shots than divide that total by say 880 & see how many shots it gives, than set it to that speed.
Just a suggestion.

This is really nice string. I like it.
Mine was shot so hot. With average of 1001fps with JSB 18.13gr.
I drop it down to average of 929 fps
I can have 90 shots from 220 to 120 bar or more

Both ur guns are very consistent, like my Cricket i once owned.
I think I must build a regulator tube to set the pressure and work from there.
My previous R3 was super at 936fps, but alas that one was stolen 😈
Do you know what your reg pressure is?
that is pretty weird. It kind of sounds like maybe regulator is still set kind of high and HST is on weak setting so it doesnt produce consistent pressure on the valve.

Have your gun broken in already? how many shots have you shot?
Can You check if the pellets clip? ANY clipping will affect the accuracy.
if you post shot string, it will help.

Stripped down my R3….. cleaned the barrel, and everything else, replaced all the o-rings as per Ernest’s video, reset my reg to 3 ‘ 0 clock from original setting, re-lubed all the parts with moly, silicone and all that shit.
Turned the HST screw out slightly to compensate for the lower reg setting.
Bought new JSB 18,13gr pellets… just to make sure.
Charged the R3 to 220 Bar.
First 10 shots were around 920fps to 916fps and all went pear shaped. 😥
Ended up 885fps to 920fps and the grouping is terrible. Hangs around the 903-908 but then those extreme drops in-between. Now what is interesting is that the flyers happen on the consistent shots , not the the extreme lows!
Perhaps it need to settle a bit but I am so DISAPPOINTED.

That is a good looking string!
How did you read the pressure after each 10 shots?
Did you use the gauge of the R3 or the scuba tank?
A 1,5 bar drop each shot is normal from 200 bar.
Below 140-150 bar it will be arround 1 bar for one shot.

Nice string, Peter. But It’s hard to believe that the regulator is still on factory setting(out of box setting, usually at 130bar). It looks like it’s on 110 bar of your reg. now.
more great strings right outta the box… 😯 good looking string.
good benchmarks for the rest of us as we tune and tweak to get same/similar performance. You have any idea what your reg is set to on the .22 and .30 rifles?

I got my new chrony and will have my Magazines for my new R3M Short by late week. I am anxious to run a few hundred rounds through it and get it broke in, I think I will run every shot through the chrony so I can watch it break in and settle from new out of the box. Could be interesting to see if it shows signs of actually breaking in of the valve and stabilizing as I have heard they do get better with use than what they are when new. I have not studied the .22’s like I have the .25’s is 905 FPS the typical # for them too ??
What was the fps before you did the adjustment.
Mine shoots around 940fps and I think somewhere I read that best Accuracy on the R3 is around 900fps with 18gr
I havent tampered with mine but are very tempted now!!
Matadors are always set very Hot from factory. (I think Ed like to show off the power of the Gun 😆 ) Mine was around 940fps. I think best speed for 18.1 JSB out of Matador is 890-910fps.

here is mine ( not tuned yet ) i asked ED about new edguns he says u better shoot +1000 pellet before make a tune 🙂 so i’ll do it after awhile
and here is my lelya 177 … i sold it recently ( beautiful rifle ) but i have to give it away 🙁
