92 shot string/graph from my new Regulated Royale 400 .22
I posted on yellow, but I also wanted to share with you my friends.
Hey guys. Well I got my new FX Royale 400 .22 with optional Regulator couple of days ago.
And now had some time to do some chrony work. I love regulated rifles for their nice flat consistent shots and no need to find that sweet spot on the bell curve. =) This one is just one consistent little sucker!
Test was done off the bags with ProChrono Digital with their LED indoor light setup.
Shooting EDgun 18.1 gr .22 Pellets (JSB 18.1)
Shot 1 to 77 gave me Max- 907, Mean- 902, Min- 898, Spread- 9, SD- 2.089
So you get about 80 Regulated flat shots from 220 bar fill! This gun is a keeper for sure. It will be a good brother
to EDgun R3 .25, R2 .22 and Lelya .22 (all regulated guns too)

What’s your velocity? I hear right around ~900-905fps (46FPE) with the JSP Exact Kings 25.4gr is the sweet spot for accuracy and high shot count with a fill of 220 bar/3200psi fill.

F&D, that’s a great string and you might as well get more pellets ‘cuz you’ll be shooting that baby a lot! Roachcreek is in the process of putting all grape-stealing, small wildlife on the endangered list with his 400.
The FX Royale 500 (.25) is amazing with a factory reg. I haven’t gone above 47+/- 2 shots with super accuracy yet, but the tank went from 185-140 bar. I’m guessing at 200 bar, this gun will give a good 50 shots or more, in .25. At some point, a 215 bar fill test is indicated.
The main thing to watch is barrel flex if you rest the gun on the muzzle, which isn’t a good idea. Unlike some rifles with a full-length shroud which helps support the barrel, the Royale 500 has a partial length moderator/shroud, so use the fore grip. This also indicates you should use the stock to pick the gun up. It’s a long rifle, in full length, but crazy fun to shoot.
Ballistic, please let me know/post how you like it! Also, see if the first, “locking” pellet in the magazine needs to be angled in a bit. Some JSB Kings are a little tight going in. I keep a couple blunted toothpicks in the tin to gently make sure the pellets seat well in the mag. Nothing forceful enough to deform, just tight.
I hear FX pellets, which are hard to locate, are even better than JSB. I’d like to find some in .22 and .25.

Haha synopsis :lol:. You get what you pay for, buy once cry once. I’d rather have one kick ass FX than 3 shitty [insert name here] :wink:.
I was seriously considering one of Tony’s Talon Tuned MRods, and I’m sure he does an incredible job having had him do some work for me, but the FX is one hell of an impressive factory rifle right out of the box, reg or no reg.
I was also considering an Edgun, but am too impatient to wait, and 2 of my buddies decided to go with the FX Royale 500 w/reg, so we’re going in together on a group buy.

Ballistic, why in the world would you want a super accurate regulated rifle that is wicked consistent for nearly one hundred shots? I hear the Marauder is ten times as accurate at 25 yards and get millions of shots on a single fill with something like 0.000000001 fps spread.
Shit for the money you could get like two or three of them good ol American made Mrods… 😯

Thanks for the info, and congrats on becoming an FX owner. I’m about to purchase a Royale 500 w/reg and can’t wait. It’s seeing data like yours, time and again that convinced me to go with the FX Royale with a reg.
That’s incredible performance. A killer combo of high shot count with a low SD and extreme spread, and outstanding accuracy.

Its an FX made regulator. It an option now. Mine was installed at factory and shipped to AOA, but you can have AOA install one in the older Royale if you need it.

That is fantastic, who could ask for anything more. Do you know what pressure the reg is set for and what size tank does it have?
Always wanted to put a reg on my Talon, but that would kind of take the fun out of the whole thing.
That is a lot of shots though, might have to look into that.

I hate to admit it, but still haven’t settled on a Chrony. Hoot was talking about one which you couldn’t shoot by accident. If it’s not too costly, I’d like one which can print out. Interfacing w/ a computer is only practical if it’ll do it with a mac. (I have no intention of owning another PC; the last one went to the Salvation Army years ago.)
Anyway, the AOA folks supplied chrony printout/info and it was shooting at a mean of 907, w/ a average deviation of 1 fps over a ten shot spread, which is remarkable. Accuracy these days continues to be super, without bench resting. Easy dime sized at 40 yds. About 300 pellets have been shot, so far (due to crappy weather).
Haven’t filled to 220 bar. Guess it’s a habit to stay below the limit. I ought to, though, just to see how the regulator performs. It’s always good to give these guns a shot or two to settle-in after a fresh fill.
Brian, I hope it arrives on a Friday with a good weekend forecast so you can have at it! Once it’s sighted in, you’ll need to print out smaller targets. Though overkill, you could head-hunt quail/dove with these things and serve undamaged gourmet fare. The 400 in .22 is best for that size.
