you’d be amazed at the legislative proposals that come out of sacramento. especially from deleon, ridley-thomas, scott and remember, we have fienstein and boxer as well as “moonbeam brown” and gavin newsome…some of the most avid anti-gun legislators in the countries history.
another one that keeps popping up is serializing ALL reloading components, brass, bullets, primers propellants and making you sign for them when purchasing…
they never give up…
all that stuff is one of the reasons i’ve switched my focus from firearms to archery and airguns…not the only reason but still among the top reasons.
how will they know if you go out of state? do the other states check too?

id invest in a cheap lee hand loader and buy a feww brass/2 lbs powder/primers and bullets

crow popper…part of the 50 rounds a month proposal is also a clause that will prohibit out of state (going to ariz, nev to purchase ammo) or internet/mail sales… 🙁 👿
i am an endowed life member of the NRA…
examples of our hokey laws here though: night vision rifle scopes attached to rifles…illegal…as far as i know, that’s the only legal limitation on optics…bullpup semi auto’s…illegal…1893 model mauser pistols…illegal (a detachable magazine forward of the pistol grip, ya know…)…as of jan 1, 2010, all semi-auto handguns must stamp serial number of gun on fired case/primer. the list goes on…
they’re trying to pass a law to limit us to be able to purchase no more than 50 rounds of handgun ammo PER MONTH… 👿
they’ve also tried to pass a law prohibiting the storage of ammo and firearms in the same structure…requiring an approved storage facility that required a permit and yearly fees and inspection.
i could go on…but there are so many it’s incredible. 🙁
the point is: watch your legislators! they are, more than likely, NOT a shooting sports ally or advocate; even with airguns…
buy ur ammo outta state
and stor it in 4 inch pvc tube capped off and buried with some silica jell packs

I heard the other day that one guy got 70 years for putting a scope mount on his rifle…

From the NRA and the recents in CA
CALIFORNIA: Update on Pending Anti-Gun Legislation in the Golden State Last week, the Senate Appropriations Committee passed Assembly Bill 962 out of committee. The bill will now move to the Senate floor for a vote very soon. AB962 would make it a crime to privately transfer more than 50 rounds of ammunition per month, even between family and friends, unless you are registered as a “handgun ammunition vendor” in the Department of Justice’s database. Ammunition retailers would have to be licensed and store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers. The bill would also require purchasers to submit to fingerprints, which would be kept in dealers’ records and subject to inspection by the Department of Justice. Lastly, mail order ammunition sales would be prohibited. No action has been taken on Senate Bill 585, which is still pending a vote by the full Assembly. SB585 would prohibit the sale of firearms and ammunition on the property or inside the buildings that comprise the Cow Palace. SB585 is a stepping-stone to banning gun shows on all publicly-owned property in California. Please contact your State Senator and respectfully urge him or her to oppose AB962. Also, please contact your Assemblymember and ask him or her to oppose SB585. Contact information can be found here.
