a few pics of some groups from surefire .25 round nose…
…bullets.
Jerry was kind enough to send me 50 to sample. I shot them out of my AAA .25. (This rifle has achieved a high of over 100 fpe with surefire slugs).
I was very impressed with the potential of these bullets and I will buy more to continue testing. What I found in my results can also be said of what I found with the surefire six or seven rings.
My first five shots are always the tightest group. As my fill pressure dropped, my subsequent groups began to open up. The faster I can move these bullets, and the surefires…the better they group.
My starting fill pressure on these groups below was 2900 psi. My hammer preload spring is set on 7. My next test will be with the preload maxed out and a start pressure from 3300 psi. I will work my way down if I experience any valve lock.
I am very impressed with how tight these bullets grouped on the first grouping. See for yourself. Groups were shot at 35 yards.

Jerry,
I think I have around 10 of them left. I will chrony them on the 2900 SP to see how fast. I won’t be able to get to it till sometime on Tues…if not, my next chance will be on Thursday.
