Q:

AA 410, BSA S10, Theboen MFR ?

I need some help, I have a Condor w/ 24 & 12″barrels, I love it. Now I want something else. I see a lot of you have the AA 410, does the front barrel mount change poi when press. changes, I was told it could.
I will just list what I am looking for in the next rifle.

Accuracy #1, quiet, around 30fpe, 22cal. reg.,and adj. power, this depends on the gun I would guess. The removeable tank might be nice, Wallnut or Beech wood ? a good trigger, and repair if needed is imporant.

Thanks to all that may have some input fo me. This is all new to me,I am a c/f shooter for a long time, and build my owne rifles. Glenn

i had an old style aa410 with cocking bolt…it was allways perfect even after snagging the shroud on branches, and i bumped it a couple of times because of it s lenght….and it was still dead on….i dont know about their new 20mm shroud though

i bought a rapid mk2 .25 50 fpe, last years and never felt so cheated in my life….theoben is not what is has been ! money better spend elsewhere IMHO

Glenn,
I have a MFR,only UK legal but my favourite air rifle.Trigger is superb and accuracy is excellent too. It’s light and pointable, easy to carry.
As for repairs,I service all of my own Rapids, they are easy to fix.
Plus you have a removeable tank that will give you lots of shots. The rifle is regulated so the power curve is not as pronounced as many other types.
We have a website:rapid7ownersclub.com

Lots of info and opinions, some owners in the USA too.HTH
Bob

Glenn, I have the s410 and have grown very fond of it. However, that damn barrel band can cause POI shift if you bump the shroud.

I loosened the band screws, then tightened each until I felt them touching the tank. Then I used 2 allen wrenches (2mm) simultaneously to tighten it down. This way if I ever bumped the shroud, I could return to zero repeatably.

I since built a new shroud, and eliminated the band but I suspect I could still suffer the same problem if I hit the shroud hard enough.

This single design is the only thing I dont like about the AA guns. The gun is super accurate, I doubt it shoots any worse than the best the BSA or Rapids will offer. I can back that up with .3″ish groups at 50 yards when all the pellet gods arent looking.
You can take it apart super easy as long as you dont get a tamper-proofed one. I hear quite a few of them in the UK are this way, not sure about over here.

The BSA has a free floating barrel (I think) but I wouldnt be bumping it on anything to test its POI. Couldnt tell you anything more about them other than they shoot very well. They are tuned from the factory to shoot right at the sweet spot velocity-wise.

All he list is S10 MkIII and new R10. That is what worries me, who can fix the BSA, or the AA.

I was in the same position this weekend before I bought another Condor….I was advise by a very reputable and experience air gunner to look at the BSA Scorpion fully shrouded bull barrel .22….They were selling new with synthetic stock for $565.00. Wood was $656.00 I think. I was told it is a tack driver and quiet….I just don’t remember the website…

More than likely http://www.airgunsofarizona.com because with only a few exceptions they are the only place to buy BSA in the US.[/quote
