Q:

AA S410/S510 Owners

I just got a shipment of 6 X 1 mm O-rings for my AA carbine. This is the O-ring that fits between the gauge mount and the air cylinder on the S4XX/5XX rifles.

It is a tiny, thin rascal that tends to leap to hiding places human eyes can’t find. They don’t grow on trees and are not easy to find.

I just got a package of 50.

If anyone needs a couple, PM me and I’ll see if you are worthy of receiving genuine Hoot O-rings.

Thanks for the input, Hoot. Much appreciated. Sobering too. As it is now I own an S510 in .177; an impulse buy if ever there was one. Bought it from a friend, less than a year old. I haven’t had it a month yet. Beautiful in most regards. Accurate for almost 30 good shots. A bit loud at full power. I ran it across my chronograph, and found it to give a pretty flat shot string with the knob set at roughly 20%: low Es and Sd values. In spite of what Air Arms told me, the rifle performs best with heavier pellets (than the 8.4 grain AA pellets it suggested). 10.65 grain Barracudas seem to work pretty well. Tried to like it, but didn’t quite get that warm and fuzzy, so now it’s up for sale or trade on the Yellow. I have two offers of trade I’m considering.
thank you for the feedback,

The S4XX/5XX seems not to enjoy tampering.

The power wheel pretty much takes care of the different fps/fpe needs. I’ve never heard of anyone who put a regulator on this gun that bragged about the results. I understand the 12 fpe version will benefit, but at FAC levels, the results are clearly not worth the time and effort unless you tune down the power to very low levels. That floats in Engliand, but not here.

The one mod that made my S510 special was the 1″ OD baffled shroud that Josh Graham over at the Yellow built for it. It is now near dead silent on the highest setting.

The best you will get from this $995 pcp is a beautiful stock, great accuracy, 30 fpe, 10 shot mag, about 30 shots at high power, and a sweet adjustable trigger.

If you push any of those specs, you will lose shots, power, and really gain nothing, or next to nothing.

It could use a bullpup stock, but that’s my personal want and need. Otherwise, it’s a buy and shoot pcp of excellent quality.

If I’m wrong, I’d certainly like to know where…I’m always up for improvements, but I have failed to find a change that’s reasonable with the S4XX/5XX series.

Kindest regards,

Have you ever tuned a 5xx rifle? Compared to other PCPs rifles, I think mine makes inefficient use of air, but I haven’t found a lot about tuning these.
thank you,

The wife question me…. she look on the other side of the mail?????
“……….Transgender……………”!!!

Thanks Uncle Hoot!!!

I love what you taped on the back of the envelope. I am going to leave it where my wife will find it! 😀

“Murdock Transgender Dancing Supplies”….”Thank you for your order” 😆

OK, I’m sick and twisted because I find this off the hook funny!

When you hold the envelope up to the light it looks like there are several tiny cock rings enclosed. WooHoo!

Uncle Hoot, you’re the best! You and WOK with his avatars…thanks guys!

Thanks for the potential opportunity to receive an o-ring blessed by your Hootness. How’s the AA doing (Air Arms, not “the other one”)?

There is a more elusive thing than an AA air gauge o-ring. The original, true and genuine Arkansas hard stone; the black, almost glassy sharpening stone that’ll put a razor edge on a blade and the stone is so tough, it’ll rarely “saddle” from use. This is the object of my quest, the great Arkansas stone of yore.

beer makes ya poopoo hoot?

Saw, drinking alcoholic drinks is identical to eating prunes when you get old.

A man’s got to ask himself “Is 1 enough? Are 25 too many???”

Regards to your liver….
