Q:

AA S410 sound levels

I was wondering if anyone here could tell me how loud a 410 is compared to a Talon SS?
I have an SS that sets of the neighbor’s dog every time I fire. Would the 410 be better in this situation?

I think so too; I just haven’t really shot that many airguns to compare it to. I did shoot it the other day without noticing their was a gardener in my neighbour’s drive-way and they didn’t bat an eyelid, so it is certainly neighbour friendly.

Air Wolf should be quieter.

I really want to know how loud my PAG shrouded Air Wolf is. It IS very quiet but it still sounds too loud to me. Should be quieter than a SS or 410, I think.

410 is quieter than a stock SS. You can baffle the frame of the SS to be quieter than a 410 (on full power).

Thanks Saugus,
I was hoping that would be the case. When I shoot my Sheridan at a lower power he does not bark. If I can find a used 410 I think I will try to pick one up. Anyone want to take partial trade of an SS on one?
😀

To answer your question, I’m thinking the 410 is quieter, at least if not on full power… to human ears. But it sounds like it might set that dog off regardless. I had a nieghborhood dog that would start barking back when I shot a rather loud co2 modded 2250, but I shot it so often the dog apparently got used to it, and gave up barking after a while.

Dogs have superb hearing and if the SS sets it off most anything will. They can probably hear the pellet whistling through the air as well as the report of the gun.

Get the neighbor’s dog some earmuffs.
