AAA .25 To lube or not to lube, that…is the question?
Shot a bunch of groups today at 25 yards with my .25 AAA condor 24″ barrel and discovered that it did not like lubed pellets of any kind. I tested some lubed EJ’s, Kodiaks, and Kings. I had some pretty crappy groups. When I tested the same pellets (not lubed) my groups were very good. So, I ask, what benefit does lubing pellets offer? Is it rifle/barrel specific, gun type, etc.??? Thanks in advance for your input.
Also, I discovered that the JSB Kings do not like to travel faster than 1100 fps. I was trying to push them as fast as I can without breaking the sound barrier for the most energy….Anything from 1100 to 1126 grouped terribly at 24 yards. My groups from 1090 down to 1022 (five, five shot groups) were excellent, three 1/4″ group, one 1/2″ group and one 3/8″ group. So in my 24″ LW AAA condor the kings like a speed of 1020 to 1090.
