What is the primary difference between the Bobcat and the Royale besides the trigger linkage (which is one of the better BP linkages to date)?

The stock…

A similar venture, the MadDog M-Rod BP conversion is much easier on the eyes. There are some features on the BC stock that I believe are key to producing the proper sight line through the scope, like the dropped butt pad. On my Ed and Cricket the butt pad is about 3″ too high, my custom fully adjustable butt pad assembly made it so these two rifles actually shoulder properly. And of course there is the complete absence of a cheek rest on the Ed and Cricket, the BC has this covered as well.

Often functionally designed stuff can be ugly… Takes time to get function and form to exist in a balanced manner. Considering the roll out of the BC i’m not so sure there was lots of time to get everything to look as good as it could.

SE, engineers often design the most ugly things anyone could conceive of, but, their “art” is not to make things look good, it’s to make them function well.

My brother is a very good professionally certified engineer (University of Illinois) but his taste for aesthetics sucks. I make fun of him constantly. 😳

Now that you mentioned it – yes. Those FX´s won´t win no beauty awards but they do shoot quite good. Fredrik should hire someone with a modicum of taste to redesign the FX line-up. I´m sure third graders at elementary school could make drawings of a stock that looks better than the stocks on BC and Indy. There are actually quite a few half-ugly rifles in the FX line so a makeover wouldn´t hurt.

You know about 1/4 or so of Fred’s guns have that ugly streak through them. Not as bad as the Bobcats and Indy but still clearly he is a technical genius in dire need of a marketing artist.

quote Sir Ville:

I don´t agree – at all ! It´s not terrible looking : It´s damned hideous. The Fugliest gun ever made. Disgusting. Repulsive.
If it wasn´t a good shooter with a nice trigger it could only be used as a Scarecrow. Have i covered the ugly-part properly ??

It is a terrible looking stock everyone seems to agree on that point.I thought you were referring to the old grey tin pellets that he really liked.
Still would like to try one.

Damed Accurate, and Damed Ugly! 😆

Now what about all three Holes! 😯 😛

I would buy the bobcat if it’s not that ugly.

You never know. Lol…. That’s the farthest I’ve shot it..

Jamie are you saying it becomes a gang bang after 70 yards? 2..3.. hole affair?

I doubt Ted has any of those pellets. Also he was using a magazine and the gun was new.Got to admit pretty amazing accuracy.Think the trigger is
the difference. He was also thrilled w/accuracy of the Revolution.Has FX further improved the ST barrels? I wonder if he had a reg version $210 option?

They were from 2011 and 2012 JSB’s. http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/message/1377358634/Ted%2C+are+you+using+current+production+JSB%2Cs- Not arguing the accuracy…. I have a .30 cal bobcat and it’s a one whole affair to 70 yards…

Not that I think it would make a difference but I believe Ted used an older batch of JSB’s in that video they may be better than the ones we get these days. ???????

Ed has the review on this one.
