Accuracy issues
😡 I thought my problem was filling to 200 bar first so just tried 40 shots from a 150 bar fill and they were no better! Any ideas what I can try next?
Heres the targets. going top left to right in order of shooting. Hybrid approx 60g hammer, 12″ barrel, slightly better spring, .22 All other detail should be on the targets.

I’m off to refill the bottle to 150 bar, remove a spacer from the spring and hope that helps!! 👿

If your pellets are sliding out I’d say get some that fit good.
Agreed! Run a regression statement. Take measures to minimize the impact
significant variables. Reduce the overall possible impact of the beta coefficient
through consistencies in approach while accounting for all impactings variables
for which you have little or no influence (E.g. Wind, pressure, ammunition,
etc…)
For each shooter, the focus variables will become apparent at the time of shot.
For me, its (still) breathing and follow-through.
Or, you can take the Mike Prescott approach! Mike used to whip me soundly
at matches and didn’t do a damned thing to prepare for them! That fat,
arrogant, SOB was (perhaps still is) a natural shot who simply stepped up to
the line and punched the ten ring; consistently. 👿 👿 👿
So, unless you’re like Mike – or just don’t really care – find the most significant
variables affecting YOU and YOUR shooting, minimize their impact, then focus
on the next set.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy! 😉
Oh how contrar mon frere WOK..You’re absolutely right. It is the concert that when done right rivals Beethoven’s Sonata No.8 in G Major.
Actually it is a CONCERT of operations that result in accuracy.
Pellet, trigger, scope, barrel, valve, consistent head placement, technique etc.
Alter one and the accuracy can change.
In my opinion, valve operation is the key to accuracy…Any deviation in air output will change the flight characteristics of the pellet, therefore changing the POI…If all of the mechanicals on the gun are operating smoothly and consistantly, then a valve in good working order will respond accordingly, hence tight groups…..
Yes I’m pleased as I’ve been trying to get good accuracy for months! I still don’t know what caused It to change tho? Could be the new valve seal. It’s a custom design that provides a shorter sharp blast of air the instant the valve Is opened. Seems strange that something so simple can be the cure but I can’t put It down to anything else. Still I’ll get some more shots off tomorrow If there’s enough light and will post the groups. 1 swallow and all that….
Sounds like you’re making some headway fusion..Good deal
I added the spacer back In last night to tighten the preload on the spring aswell as slightly tightening the spring securing screw on the valve, I Just tested It In what little light was left and It didn’t dump 😀 I managed to get a quick group shot off too and I could cover the 5 shots with a 5p piece so I’m pritty pleased 😉 Just hope the accuracy keeps up now! Should be able to rattle a few shots off tomorrow.
I’ve took my weirach silencer off now as that was clipping heavily and now using the bean can silencer which I’m pritty sure Isn’t clipping. I have tried It without the silencer on a 200bar fill which made no difference but will try a 150bar. I try to use the silencer whenever I can as the last thing I want Is someone complaining they have heard loud gunshots 😆
Have you tried shooting it without the silencer?
Thanks Buzz, I’ll try the origional hammer as I still have It. Another thing I noticed Is It tends to produce alot of lead dust. I notice It inside the frame, On my silencer adaptor and around the end barrel bushing so basically everywhere! Also the tophat gets very dirty and oily. I’m running the hammer dry so guessing It’s the lube from the pellets but can’t see how It gets on the tophat all the time 😕
The valve doesn’t seem to be sticking Mam, anything else to try? I’ve never had It dump before now and I’ve just took a spacer out from behind the spring so perhaps It’s that? Sounds unlikely to me but….?
After checking the things that buzzcat suggested, let all of the air out of the tank and check the tank valve..Sounds like it might be sticking….
Could there be something amiss with the hammer? As a rule, whenever something goes FUBAR, whether it’s guns, computers or cars, I’ll step backwards by eliminating any changes/mods that were made to the OEM assembly, one by one, and see if there’s any improvement after a piece has been isolated.
Do you still have your stock hammer? If so, I’d put it back in and see what happens.
My two cents.
Just re filled to 150 bar – first shot and the tank dumps again 👿 The pellet looks almost exactly the same so as the first time It happend. Almost as if there trying to get shot sideways down the barrel??

Cheers. Looks like everything else was fine then as I’ve gone over them hundreds of times and this new valve head has sorted It. Strange why the others gave inconsistancy though 😕 Anyway I had chance to get another group off and again It was coverable with a 5p with 1 flyer. Hopefully get some more groups off at some point and I’ll post some pics. Once It’s shooting well close range I’ll see what It can really do 8)
