Q:

Adding a .25 Cal Barrel to SS

I have received my Talon SS .177 and really enjoy shooting it. I am thinking about adding a .25 Cal barrel for some small game hunting. Is it reasonable to expect to take a coyote at 50 yards with .25 cal barrel on the SS? I am leaning towards the 24″ long barrel since most of the .25 cal shots would be from a prone position supported with the bipod.

I know the Condor in .25 cal would be the ultimate coyote rifle but I would prefer to use the Talon SS for both my .177 target and .25 cal hunter. I think I will do more target shooting so that is why I went with the Talon SS in .177 in the first place.

If your good at resetting your tophat you can get about 800fps out of a Talon valve with 30 grain pellets in a 24″ barrel. I’m not sure you’ll be happy with that type of power at 50 yards…

If you want more velocity you will need a Condor valve and a hammer weight.

A TalonSS with a Condor valve and hammer weight is basically a Condor, with the exception being the additional frame rail. 😉
