Q:

Adjusting Edgun Regulator….again….

I read, but cannot find an old post, that basically said, after you adjust your reg and then you shoot a string then you start adjusting the HST. But at some point when the fps target cannot be achieved , you have to go back in and adjust the reg some more since the target fps cannot e achieved with only hst.

Does anyone remember this post, or can you give me some direction/guidelines on this subject.
Thanks, Terry

I would screw in HST until max speed was reached (you will know when max speed is reached as “over-screwing-in” the HST will start showing lower speeds).
If you max out at a speed higher/lower then desired speed then adjust the reg. My experience was about 15 fps / “hour” (one full turn being 12 hours), screw out HST one full turn and start all over again turning in HST until it tops out.

Hope that makes sense and that it helps.

After adjusting reg you start to dial in HST for flattest curve from beginning to end.
If your target speed isn’t attained readjust reg then HST again. Continue to do so until you hit your mark.
Where was it and where do you want it? How much have you adjusted reg so far?

Didn’t you kind of answer your own question?

I remember the post, it’s been awhile, but I believe you just summed up his whole point. Fine tuning requires a “balance” between the regulator setting and the HST adjustment. There’s no magic formula, as we don’t know what you are trying to adjust to. Adjust, test, readjust, retest, adjust, retest until you slowly get where you want to be.
