Advice for Vulcan cleaning
Oh wise sages of Vulcan Airgun Realm….AKA old Farts…obviously excluding myself and Ville, as I’ve seen a picture of he and he looks about my age. Or perhaps he has pickled himself at his bar. Anyway on to the subject.
I’ve been out in the field scrambling the brains of rabbit and squirrel :5: a few times without a good cleaning of my gun when returning. Raining in my neck of the woods today and I thought I would give my lovely, awesome Vulcan a good cleaning. I’ve used the Hoppe’s wipes pictured on my PB guns in the past and am wondering if these would be ok to use on Vulcan, however I don’t want to use products that would damage performance or internals.
What products, how and how often do you use them? Anything you could offer is welcomed! :8:

I vote Patch Worm too 😆 but I´m using Ballistol instead WD40. I believe both does good job. I have used boresnake without brass but I have feeling since I use patch worm the barrel is cleaner.
Thanks Zonk! I use patch worm also. I have Wd40 and will use to. I just read on various forums about not using cleaning gear that will breakdown O-rings and such. If anybody else has input please provide!
We talked about this in the past and I for one really like the Patch Worm for cleaning the barrel. This bit of info was passed along to me by Sir Ville and has spread through out the members on here. I have several Dewey cleaning rods but I feel the Patch Worm does a better jo of cleaning my barrel. Plus you can roll it up and take it out into the field with you.
I also like to wipe my guns down with WD40 after a shooting session. I keep an old cotton T-shirt with WD40 sprayed on it in my cleaning gear. Some people will disagree with me on using WD40, but I’ve been using it since 1976 and NONE of my firearms have any rust or corrosion on them.

I have a similar setup only using heavy monofilament fishing line. (Almost purchased the patch worm but realized I have lots of spools of heavy fishing line laying around). Got the idea from someone on one of these forums but I just tied a loop at the end and pull patches breech to end. I also have had good luck with WD40. Its not good for lubrication but seems to protect surfaces just fine.
