Aeon for Cricket
I got the Aeon 6-24 x 50 Tree (FT) reticle today from WWAG. It replaced a Cheaper’s Mini-Swat 3-12 x 44 and man is it sweet. Now I won’t be guessing at poi within 3/4″ at 45 yds. Those paintballs they call mil dots obscure things in relatively short distance.
I was always glad I bought my Cricket Compact from Wild West but getting this at no extra cost is the creme de le creme on the fine pastry. It’s over half the length of the Compact but hey good glass takes length right? 😀 Now it doesn’t look like a .25 with the NC shroud on it.
Gonna take it up to the northwoods of Wisconsin tomorrow, dial it in and see if I can refine my shooting a bit … or just a little bit … or….just :fishinghole: if :darth-vader: is not with me.

So I used this last weekend on the Compact .22 and it’s one of the clearest scopes I’ve used since the Hensoldt 6x on a PSG-1 nearly 25 yrs ago. I haven’t used a whole lot of scopes in recent years but this was pretty good at 24x.
Unfortunately at home I do the great majority of my shooting at night and can’t see the reticle on the target. I know there are those that don’t like illumination because of weight but with my dashboard stock it’s already heavy and with shooting off the bag it doesn’t really matter. I used to really like the low light reticle adjustment on that Hensoldt and wish they could produce something similar on the Aeon. I read there was problems with Aeon’s illumination.
Might have to get a second set of QD rings for the Leaper’s mini-Swat even though the illumination is too bright and kinda hoky and the mil dots are marbles.
The Aeon is great during the day though.
Anyway I just don’t hear much at all about these scopes yet a lot of people got one free with their Cricket order from WWAG.
