AF gun POLL, or "how I relapsed back into Black Rifles&
I unfortunately sold my Condor SS (along w/ my 67′ GTO, Jeep, RM250, and it seems like EVERYTHING else I owned, lol.) in ’08-09 due to a never-ending divorce and was out of airgunning until I made a trade with on a new .25 Marauder with Kip at AOA on a vintage AG I picked up for song.
I’ve only shot the .25 a handful of times, with last weekend being my first and only hunt with it. As as impressed as I am with it initially (and for clarity I am admittedly most likely more impressed by the .25 caliber aspect over the actual gun itself), I am quickly finding myself wanting another AF gun. Bad.
I love the “machined metal” aspect of the AF guns, their incredible inherent ability to be modded almost endlessly into any form may you may wish and their never-ending tune-ability -plus I guess I’m a sucker for that “black rifle” look.
So I cruise the “For Sale” section regularly waiting for the deal I won’t be able to pass up. I’m leaning towards finding a gently used .22 talon SS. I LOVE the SS version of the guns, to me it is just so perfectly usable: Points fast, feels good in the hands, like and extension of your body (kinda’ like my favorite 20ga upland bird gun feels). Then again, there is always the wait for AF to come out with a factory .25, or the long-awaited multi-shot that’s supposedly been in development (Crosman has designed, manufactured, marketed and introduced THREE BRAND NEW rifles, and soon a pistol in the same time, lol.) for years now.
I read the YF and find myself clicking the TAG link often to come here. I enjoy seeing what is going on in the world of TAG (and always hoping to find of that perfect picture of WOK to put on my locker at the gym, .), what the AG mad scientists are working on, what critters guys are puttin’ the smack down on and of course, enjoying the well-informed, intelligent conversations that seem to always be sprinkled with just enough goading and smart-ass one-upping that always makes me say “Now THESE ARE MY PEOPLE, my smack-talking, die-hard, fist-pumping, micrometer-in-one-hand-beer-in-the-other, hardcore, rabbit slaying m*tha’ f*ckin’ people!
Yes, I like my new Marauder. A lot even…………but damn it I’ve got the AF bug BAD again.

80grit -so is it the standard talon frame or the SS/Condor frame youre putting together?
It will have a polished and highly accurate 18″ barrel, a condor frame, a 33 gram brass hammer weight (in addition to the stock airforce hammer), a talon valve with the flow mod done to it, and around 300.00 worth of aftermarket parts on it. I am hoping to get it together tomorrow and post some pics. It will be a very fair price as I am getting ready to list around four of my airguns for sale.
My favorite is the Talon SS.
Short and tight for upclose damage.
Great little gun that is easy to conceal.

Well you already said you have a long ass full powered gun in 25, so why not go back to the short compact SS in 22.
Or find a used condor set up with the 12” in 22, and Mod the hell out of it. Get the condor frame and the sky is the limit.go short or long.
I would most definitely go with a 22, because you cant shoot a 25 cheaply for practice etc.
I have a condor 24” with a 13” shroud, and i would really like to build up a condor frame SS, would be nice a handy.
I would suggest a .25 cause they r just bad ass Walt in Hawaii has one on here NIB for 625.00 i think no mods just a stock gun but as u know there r ppl on here that can set u up with all the stuff to lay the smack down on whatever u want to kill Mine is shooting 43grn pellets with a first shot at 107fpe and 14 shots at over 90fpe

Shortly I will have a .22 with an 18″ barrel up for sale. It will be a “great deal” as I will be including many $$$$ aftermarket parts in the sale. PM me if interested in taking a look. I am getting it together right now.
Well you could always do what I did.
Buy a used .22 condor then:
Get a 12″ barrel in .22, then another in .20
Get a 24″ barrel in .25, then another. LOL
Get a 2nd bottle, maybe a 2nd frame.
Viola, you have them all.
Oops, forgot the .177 but the .20 covers that niche quite well.

I have the talon ss .22, condor .22 and Marauder .25
I use my condor with a shroud for long range. I use the Marauder under 50 yards. My talon ss is at my fathers (he is 73) and he loves it for the squirrels on the feeder. I like the condor with the shroud so much better I never miss the Talon ss. I could see how some would like a shorter gun but I am a big lug myself so the small gun looks funny! 😆
