AF Improvements (better sear & valve Oring)
Looks like AF has done a couple of goods things with the sear and Top brass Oring. Tony and a few others have been replaceing that paper thin oring to a better one for while now, but looks like the stock ones are finally what they should be.
Long ago you guys IDd the sear as the problem with the saftey sometimes failing. This new one looks and performs a lot better. I set it beside an older version for comparison.

I have mine made from harden stainless and I still don’t like mine… Sure its much better than the OEM stuff I had from way back when my Condor was new, but its still a very weird feeling trigger… Least as the triggers I have around here go, its way out there all by itself in how it feels and works…
I added a stronger hammer spring to mine yesterday and had to work over the angle of the sear alittle. I was looking at my old OEM parts I still have and I was stilled shocked at all the stress cracks that are in very vital places, scarried the heck out of me when I first saw them and figured I had to make something and quick…
Looking at those parts yesterday, it still scarried me LOL…
perhaps if someone would make tool steel replacements or chrome-moly perhaps, that monkey hair would hold mpre definitely yet release with less friction.
It is a little different. doesnt break as clean as before, but then again its not resting in a groove the size of monkey hair anymore. YN’s trigger job should crisp it up again.
does the second stage feel any different now?
Im also a lot more confident in these updated sears. Ive put them in two guns now with no problems.

Its a kidney transplant. Im sure it will go well. They tell me the surgery “isnt as harsh as it use to be” Im going to hold them to that 😆
I think with trigger mod which can increase the preload, that long pull can be solved. At least, my mind is peaceful that the sear has positive solid engagement with that intermidiate piece and it cocks every time now.
good to know. ive been racking my brain thinking of ways to modify the sear/intermediate junction for a crisper release…
btw…can we stop referring to this as the sear now, and call it what it is(intermediate, middle, bar#2, etc.) ❓
I put that new sear into my recent .25cal Talondor and it takes longer pull to release the hammer which makes it kind of unpredictable when the let off will happen.

The new sear seems to fix the problem. Im still going to give the Airarcher a rest for a while. I have a lot going on next year including some surgery and I need to clear my plate a bit.
Yeah, I modified one and had it for awhile also… I even added a twist to it and had it where I could swing the safety out the side of that portion of the frame and it would not be automatic on safety for when I was like shooting at a bench…
The darn thing was pretty cool for the most part, but as I was making all the parts in the trigger assembly at the time, I ended up removing the safety all together…
Guess I could put mine back in now as I have a much much better sear now and it really doesn’t matter now what spring and hammer I have cocked LOL… There really should never be a rifle without a safety, but hey, even my 308 BR centerfire has no safety and came this way.
AZ had removed my safety on the Rapid I bought used some time back and the MarkIV trigger on my Rapid is nothing short of awesome right now… I did re-install the safety on the Rapid though…
What kinds of differences are there in the Edge that AF has? I would love to check one of these out… I am most interested in the trigger assembly on these and the small cylinder they have for the tank… The valve on the end of that tank also…
I think that the tank on these would make a great pre-chamber and tube from which to mount a stock on, then have a QF mounted off the right side somewhere and use a Joe B. Guppie tank and regulator for a flame thrower style setup for a walk about hunting rifle… Least I think it would.
The rear spring retainer has changed also, it has a beveled inlet now.
I make mine look similar to that with a dremel to hold heavier hammer springs.
