Q:

AG Laws

I keep seeing post here and other forums about some States making laws that Treat AG’s as firearms. Some by caliber, others just treat any air gun as a firearm. Take a look at this.

We are letting State governments run over our rights.

All airguns need a permit to purchase. I need the same permit for a co2 pellet pistol as a .357 mag. Its actually harder for me to buy a pellet rifle than a 30-06. with my firearms ID card I can purchase rifles or shotguns with a backround check of course. For a pellet gun even with thefire arms ID you need to apply for a seperate permit for a bb or pellet gun. Discharging any projectile ( I imagine a spit ball gun included because of the wording) is the same crime. Shooting my pellet gun can get me jail time. I have to be 450 feet from the nearest occupied dwelling. (not too many of those places left in NJ)

Agree. I am living in the UK at the moment and the laws here are insane. They outlawed any air gun that uses a air cartridge such as Brockock Tacs weapons. No matter what licence you have you can not legally buy or sell such weapons in the UK. Yet I can still walk down my local gun shop and buy a .22 LR semiauto or even a .303 rifle perfectly legally. Work that one out? But no matter how daft the laws is they will probably never be removed once there implemented. Wish there was a pro gun rights group over here such as the NRA over there.

IMO,FWIW…i DO NOT trust legislators as a whole; especially in california. california has some of the most avid anti-gun legislators ever to sit the floor of a legislative body.

they have proven time and time again they go against the wishes of the people.

i happen to be a life member of the NRA and support them. if EVERY firearm, airgun, archery bow owner in america belonged to the NRA and similar organizations, can you imagine the strength?

there must be some validity to “their” fears of such organizations as they often mention them in their campaigns for election/re-election. one scally-wag referred to the NRA as “jack-booted thugs”, remember?

it has become my policy to vote “NO” on almost every issue AFTER reading and understanding the issue, and, not to RE-ELECT an encumbent who has voted in favor of any anti-whatever my issue is, at the time.

be VERY careful about the legislators you vote for.

I keep seeing post here and other sites telling of different States that you cannot have air guns shipped to. Certain States are calling some if not all air guns, fire arms. This is just more cases of governments walking all over our rights. This has already been addressed by Federal law.
