Air/Archer-400 conversion (formerly TD400)
Here are some pics of the latest version of the arrow conversion. I have got to get another condor or talonSS frame. Going back and forth from the .25 barrel to the arrow barrel keeps me in a constant state of conflict 😕

Interesting thought on the longer barrel. A while back I had high hopes for the starrflight foils solving the fletching clearance problem on a shroud design Im working on ,(the SF foils would engage the arrow after the arrow shaft cleared the shroud) but they dont make the SF foils for the larger OD arrows the Airarcher conversion uses.

Just makes me wonder, have you ever tried a longer barrel for the AirArcher, say 28″? I used to shoot a 30″ 2317 arrow back when I used a compound and it occured to me that the longer arrow over a longer barrel might possibly get a big velocity boost, reason being that because if you have a 30″ arrow telescoping over a 30″ barrel, you would have nearly a 60″ total power stroke! 😯
Most of the new super high speed crossbows barely have a power stroke of 20″.
Obviously it would take a huge volume of air to pressurise both the barrel and the arrow tube, but I can’t help but wonder if the accuracy and possible velocity gains might be worth it? Long arrow shafts would be easy to get, and a longer barrel wouldn’t be that hard to obtain, making a shroud that long might take some extra work though. I know a few guys would balk at a 30″ barrel, but a lot of us tote a hunting shotgun with a barrel that long and never give it a second thought.
Just a thought also, have you ever tried the new Starflight F.O.B. type fletching? I’m not sure of the dia. of the FOB disk’s or if they would fit inside the factory AF shroud, but supposedly the FOB gives better stability at high velocities 300fps and above.

Exactly, different dots for different ranges. The 30mm three dot scopes are usually used on crossbows.

It groups good out to 60yrds. I got a 3 dot 30mm scope for it for christmas so Ill be able to stretch it out a little further now just for fun. I wouldnt try and kill anything past 50yards at the most.
What kind of range can those arrows reach out to? I recall they are super accurate, just curious as to the distance. Thanks

Thanks guys, Im not really tooled up yet to really crank these things out, so I dont push them that hard. When someone wants one I make it,test it and send it out. As far Production, I am thinking and working in that direction though.

I hear ya, I have 5 barrels and a 24″ .25 in the works. I think I need more frames for all these barrels, hammer weights, valved tanks… 😯
Looking at that arrow mod never gets old… 😉
