I was totally kidding about the snooty thing. The YF is a massive forum, a tight grip is needed to keep order. If Tagdagger’s most awesome product had nothing to do with the Condor/Talon platform I understand, this just falls on the edge of a category and so it comes down to how far the rules can bend and for how many. No bending of the rules period is the easiest policy to enforce.
Shit just having an email account is a bitch, I can’t imagine a forum with the spam and “other” things.

i dont know im never able to find my posts again…but i think they dont like squirrels…bashing of AOA…and some other things i cant remember, the only time i go there is if someone here says theres something of interest
@Riverside…i stand corrected…i must admit i havent been much over there since first kid was bord …hmm that makes for 22 months…they didnt like me calling a rapid for crapid….met killerbee on the hog hunt that was arranged…nice guy….as a former admin of a counterstrike forum (pc game) after a while all the fun goes out of it….if you just leave it to rot without admins it goes straight to hell very fast, as people start using for other things…i had 10 admins…but they got tired of it too….all of a sudden i got a letter from tele-denmark (Internet/phone etc provider) that i was to immediatly stop my forum…i had no idea….but it had turned into a forum where people shared ip’s for ftp warez servers…hehe…whoops …anyways 22 months is quite some time and honestly i only follow two forums URC and TAG …
but anyhow, a forum is a chore…many tries to be friendly to all kinds of people….a dead squirrel or WOK on Tron porn, might not be kosher for younger shooters….imho the world is getting wrapped in shipping foam all to quickly and its choking us….when i was a kid and went to the candy store…the shelf with newpapers and mags…had the porn right there at eye height…none of the kids ever did more than look at the front page…but thats wrong now too….a water gun in clear plastic is considered a gun and expulsion reason at schools…WTF..softair yeah suspend the kid…but water pistol ! geeez

Simply because it is an airgun CONVERSION I think it should be allowed on such a forum.
Otherwise a purpose built item for archery isn’t technically an airgun for the same reason an airgun isn’t a firearm even though you can shoot some of the same ammo.
I guess then by the same reasoning the kit isn’t airgun related, but it’s for an airgun only…

Bottom line is there are no forums that offer the freedom of expression like the TAG.

You have been severely misinformed. Airgunadvice has a shit load of rules and their moderators have chased off almost all of their posters. At one time it was a busy forum and now it is essentially a ghost town and has all been abandoned by its owner Killer B. They banned knifemaker for just disagreeing with them on moderators . Some people were allowed to discuss them there but they decided knifemaker was not one of them. Then when he caught Oykas pimping some knock off scopes over there they got super pissed at him for pointing out they were knock offs.
Here are the rules they have posted there.
The following standards of moderation will be applied to AirgunAdvice:
1. The following will not tolerated AT ALL, an immediate action will be taken:
Obscenity
Pornography
Nudity of any type
Racial Slurs
Threats
Bashing
Personal Attacks/Insults, name calling directed at a Member(s)
2. Posts that are obvious baiting and/or looking for trouble will be deleted, repeat offenders will be BANNED!!!.
3. Posts that may bring unwanted attention or discredit to airgunning will be deleted.
4. All I.P. addresses are logged for the protection of this forum and it’s members.

Posts that will not be deleted include good arguments among members involving specs, performance, etc. of airguns or associated equipment/supplies. It is good to hear both sides and the input from many, but again no personal attacks, name calling and the like.
Also if a member has NEVER posted a single post on this forum, after a period of 6 months to a year their membership will be deleted from the database, this is in an effort to keep the board alive with active members.

While I don’t agree with excluding Air Archer conversion kits from the Yellow…in the end it’s Steve’s turf
Steve & I did exchange several emails regarding the situation…his position is that posts selling/discussing “archery” related were never allowed on the Yellow however in the past he had mostly let them slide under the wire.
Thing is now with his expanded Mod Squad he is really tightening up ship there…his comparison was that “An Air Archer falls under Air Guns as much as a Brad Nailer does” end quote
Obviously I don’t agree, in fact there is no posted rule and the kits are about as Air Gun related as it gets but it’s his house, not my place to do much other than bring it to his attention and relate the outcome where it will do the most good, here on TAG.
Sure, I brought up Johnny Swedens post and the long thread that followed it regarding the new FX device, also brought up the lengthy history of Airrow Stealth discussions on the Yellow
Management maintains these were examples of this that had been allowed to slide there in the past.
mostly I suspect this is the result of Internet Air Gun politics
there is a great body of folks very uncomfortable with highly lethal AGs…
a dressed out Air Archer intimidates the hell out of these people
Lots of folks have posted up anti big bore statements, LD has done it a couple times himself then later admitting to having some himself. Hypocritical? Sure…then again I have lost count of Colt collectors I have known who vocally opposed military pattern semis but quietly held registered 21′ AC Thompsons or Monitor BARs
in short they can own it but no one else should
A great example in the firearms world was the late NRA Director, Bruce Stern…very few folks knew of his vaulted Gun Room & many were totally shocked when the collection came up for auction a number of years ago

I sold my Airarcher on a Talon frame there about 10 days ago.
One of the reasons this forum is so great, is like Thenoid says, the YF is run by cunts and this one is not.
And yes Adam I understand it has millions of readers,and thus you feel they have to be strict, but really, a power fucking trip is a power fucking trip, and those mods are on a power trip, pure and simple.

Power trips also help keep racists rants and political babbling off the forum as well as bitching and moaning about dealers.
Funny thing is people have many airgun forums to post on. But often they want a large audience the yellow forum provides and they get upset if they can not stand on that stage and bitch profusely.
Of course moderation is not perfect and up to some peoples standards so maybe you should ask for a full refund for your FREE membership 😀
FX also is making an archery unit. I guess that will not be allowed as well.
