Air Arms S410 and S410 carbine?
I was just looking into this rifle and I would like to get one when I save up some money. But I am in favor of shorter rifles and AA S410 Carbine looks pretty nice to me. Well, on PyramydAir website they state that velocity in carbine version is 920fps -the same as in full length version.
I would like it to be that fast and powerfull but I have a doubt that it is since the barrel is much shorter.
My question is; does anyone of you guys have experieces with both, carbine and full size AA S410 rifle? And is it possible to make carbine as powerful as full size rifle?
I do not want to buy short one and find out that I am not satisfied with power. I am not power greedy but I would like it to shoot 900-950fps in .22cal 18grain pellets.

Hey mam, I read, in the link you provided me with close to an end, that they upgraided their rifles with classic airtube. You know what that mean, buy any chance?
I contacted Steve, at Pomona air guns and he quoted $90.00, plus install and shipping. A Classic air tube is longer than the carbine and will increase the number of shots from a fill.
Further, the power wheel on the S4XX series of rifles, including the carbine, can be drilled and modified. Steve said it was in the neighborhood of $100 so its available it you can’t do it yourself. It will get you up in the 900+ fps range with Kodiaks.
Pomona air guns must be a one man shop. He doesn’t do emails and uses fax or telephone (which is always busy). I don’t know anything about him other than his customer reviews on his website.

Robert, why did you swap the tubes? I ask that because I was thinking the MPR may be unbalanced for you. Was thinking in making a stock and I’ve been thinking in overpassing that problem with an adjustable weight system.

The MPR that I have is the prototype for the current production MPR… so mine had a Carbine sized tube. Swapping to the classic tube on my prototype MPR was a no brainer….
now on the Carbine, aside from giving more shots, the larger tube on the Carbine gives much better balance to the gun and makes for a nice carry gun.

Tonaka, I have a S400 Xtra FAC, even longer tube, and I replaced it with a classic one and a new tube end cap with foster plug. It’s very simple in fact. Just don’t forget to empty it first!

I’ve replaced the tube in my Carbine and in my MPR. 5 min job.
Empty the air, unscrew the tube, unscrew the fill adapter, screw in the adapter on the new tube and screw in the tube.
Literally a 5 min job, if that. Be sure you have the air out of the tank first.
If you do a search here, you’ll see strings I’ve posted, but I have both mine set up at 12fpe in .177.
The MPR gives me 100 shots while the Carbine gives around 80.
I heard you just screw out the old tube and in with the classic.
Topgun sells them for 70 or so bucks.

damn loud. I got one and it shot 900 fps with 14 gr. for about
20 good shots. Sent it back and got a Edgun, the AA is not
even in the same league. That’s right boys add another to

Yes you can have that done, or do it yourself if you know how. The Classic air tube is longer, affording you more shots with the Carbine. It’s a good set up from what I can tell.
Steve at Pomona Air Guns got my s410 erb Extra to do 18gr at mid/high 900’s, but the Carbine’s barrel is to short for those speeds. But don’t worry about power to much, the Carbine still has good power. It’s the accuracy most of us are looking for, and all AA rifles seem to have that, along with decent power to back it up.
