air usage
hi i have just had some modifications done by leupy and i am very pleased with his work but if i fill it to 3000psi i fire 7 shots it has gone down to 2500psi and is wasting a huge amout of air and it is a sub 12fpe gun how can i stop this i have tried the tophat but i have all sizes of allen keys and one fits one screw and the other screw is rounded off but i have never played with the top hat before so i dont know how it has done this and the one screw wont screw all the way in im using a 1/16 allen key,and the mods were “O”ring mod,hybrid hammer,vented front bushing,and a new main spring please help me many thanks nathan.

Read the link above on how to adjust your tophat. If you can not remove that set screw because it is rounded then I suggest you drop some superglue on the end of the wrench and place it in the hole. Let it dry and gently try to unscrew it. Discard that set screw.
Try moving the top hat down toward the bottle and test each 1/4 turn over a chronograph.
If you still can not get it to stop waisting gas you may need to take a look at the hammer spring. It may be to heavy or you might need to replace your valve spring with a heavier spring so your valve will close faster waste less air.
There are several thing you can cause your problem. The best thing is to start to find out what was recently changed that could be causing your problem and work back from there.

Unless he changed the tophat set screws, you need a .050 key/wrench.
You are wasteing some major air….
You need to turn that tophat in to appox. .60 gap.

Thanks WalkonKing i have been through almost everything on this site and i was a member of TOG when that was still alive that had some good things on it.
