Air Wolf and his big brother
I picked up this AirWolf several months ago. The shroud had been shortened and an LDC installed. The job was effective but no worthy of this rifle. I called my buddy Dave (Ribrab off the yellow) and asked him for help. Dave made a new shroud that ended right at the barrel and mated nicely to one of his HW type LDC’s. The rifle retained the nice short carbine feel and gained a higher neighbor rating with the reduced noise levels.
The Al anodizing is off two different batches so the future I plan to strip both parts and have then refinished, but for now I’m satisfied.
Oh yea this thing is a 20 cal tack driver. I use the Beemen Kodiak double gold pellets and this combination has severely impacted the grackle population in the hood.
Not to make T jealous he’s my FX T12 Typhoon 22 cal. The FX is a nice light and accurate 27 fpe rifle. The Walnut is pretty and warm. Now I just need to make a de-pinger.

Guy’s thanks for the kind words. I’ve come to know that the early AW had a notorious clipping issues. I know first hand from several owners whom had AW’s and had either PAG, Dave or AZ perform some surgery to correct the clearances. Dave’s first shroud we tried on the Wolf clipped also, so we shortened it and did the LCD. It came out great and it’s bark is quieter then my FX T12. With the full shroud and LCD the Wolf was almost silent – I felt guilty for having something so stealthy!
In it’s present condition, the pellet Popping a grackle 40 yds away is louder then the muzzle report. In fact my father-in-law popped a dove off his roof and the neighbors just saw the bird fall. They all thought it flew into the roof.. HEHEHE..

if you could put an LDC on a shrouded rifle….That is slick…
Yeah I find myself always looking at the Airwolf s as well.
Kind of like us Condor owners are like Viper owners that still look sideways when a Ferrari drives by. 🙂

First time I’ve seen a LDC added to a Wolfe. Looks much better than I would have thought. In fact, I like it!
shame they are in such question when threaded on here in the States.
I’ll bet it does a fine job. I’ve been looking at the Rapid and Wolf very seriously lately!
