Q:

airforce guns help/info

Hi. Im a super noob but im really getting into these guns.

Im just wondering which gun is best to buy?
I want to buy the conder but theres so many things i dont know.
Why is .177 fps 1400 and the .20 is 1300.
Same for the talon.

Im also looking to buy a hand pump instead of a tank. Which hand pump is best? And im a pretty small guy. 5’3 130 pounds. Am i going to be able to pump my tank all the way?

Whats the different from the talon and conder? Just size?

If anyone can tell me more about these awesome guys that would be great!

Thank you

Nope! I can bare hit anything with a rifle, much less a pistola.

Blind Noob!

With my looks, this sounds like my kind of girl.

Don’t want any thing to do with a Popped Cherry Noob. Just doesn’t sound right.

PowderBurner add Old Noob (me) to your list. πŸ™‚

Oh boy, here we go again… Lol! πŸ˜† The O.P. won’t get that joke as much as the rest of you, so I will let him in on it. I was a blind noob 2 months ago and now I’m just a noob as I have read my @ss off! There are many differences hence the different models offered, so choose wisely.

Use this wonderful site to enlighten yourself. Once you can ask a particular question with evidence of you doing research in it, members will want to help you more than if you just hit them with such a broad question like “Which gun is the best to buy?” I’ll get you started though and my answer would be… It’s the one that is best suited for your needs! I personaly like the Condor SS set up for efficiency and stealth!

There are many differences between the Talon, Talon SS, and the Condor like frame length, barrel length, tank valve, report volume, efficiency, scope rail, etc.

Keep in mind that a .177 pellet weighs less than a .20, .22, .25, so this is why the FPS of any given pressure is different. The Quick Refference Section is a great tool for learning about the different potential of these rifles. +1 on the Hill pump reccomendation, as they are the best.

Don’t get me wrong, I too have a lot to learn and sometimes we just want the answers now and I get that… Trust me, I do, but you have to read and then read some more to really get an idea of what you really even want to ask.

I wish you the best of luck and feel free to PM me with questions and I will do my best to get you on the right path, although others would be much better suited in getting you started off right!!!

Two more posts and I will have officially popped my cherry! Lol! πŸ˜†

search, he must.

find info. he will.

Valve lock is when the pressure in the tank is greater than the hammer hitting the valve. So the valve prefers to stay shut when struck. It will let some air out but not enough for shooting.

Best to fill an AF gun to 2700psi and start shooting. Somewhere around 2300-2600psi you will notice more power. That will be your start pressure for that tank/gun/pellet combo.

My condor 22 24″ likes a 2300psi start pressure and likes a refill at 1800psi.

Don’t get hung up on 3000psi in your gun. Our tanks are double the size of most air guns. Plus the lower tank pressure gives you more charges from your scuba tank and less work from a hand pump.

Are these airforce gun reliable?
imo, yes

is it worth the money?
imo, yes

I read some reviews, most of them were good but a lot of people said when they put 3000psi they got valve lock? What’s that about?

Thanks for all the info.

Go directly to the Quick Reference section of this forum. Have that open in one window, and the AirForce web site open in another window. Figure out what you want to do with the airgun, and start coming up with a plan. Almost every question you’ll have has been asked and answered here before. πŸ˜€

x2, hill pump…

Hill hand pump, don’t buy the AF pump. If u end up using your gun a lot u may end up rethinking the pump over a large tank. You should probably do a lot more reading on this forum.

.20 pellets tend to drag more in the barrel. other than that, a bigger calibre pellet makes better use of the air behind it.

the rest of that stuff you can find at airforceairguns.com
