Q:

airforce scopes

How are the AF scopes for tracking and repeatable clicks??

I want to get a scope with repeatable clicks without spending a fortune.

The thing is I want 1/4 clicks not 1/8 a 30MM tube a mildot retical and some decent magnfication 15-18 power.

But all the Leupolds I looked at had the inch tube and mostly duplex retical, except the 1000 dollar jobbie’s and the magnification wasnt to high till you hit the $700 mark

S&B Id have to talk to a loan officer.

Im considering a bushnell 3200 elite and a Millet TRS1. and a bushy legend

I checked up on leatherwood and the guy said they were good for pounding nails, and as a boat anchor, but not so good as a scope.

The falcon menance Im unsure of at this point. and its HUUUUUUUGE!

The elite and legend are 1 inch tubes the millet is a 30 mm tube but 1/8 MOA.
I hate 1/8 MOA

Uhhhhhhhh Iv’e been looking all day and The best one Ive seen that has everything I need is the Bushy elite 4200 at around $500

I was seriously thinking about shooting in a feild target next spring , but I need some glass I can count on .

ehhhhhhhhh I think im going to settle with the legend for now . I think its “”good enough “” and for the price its probably the best in that range.

I just bought one (Airforce scope) and when I am off bed rest I will let you know what I think of them.

Never, except just a second ago, heard anything good.

There is absouletely no way around spending money to get a good scope. You can get a decent scope for not too terribly much, but there is nothing that compares to high dollar optics.

Don’t believe me, go find somewhere that sells schmidt and bender scopes. Cheapest ones are several thousand $$$, but they are soooooo awesome.

The varix3 line from leupold is awesome as well. I have two of them, and several leapers and other lower end optics, and they just don’t compare.

Very short strech from Cat’s Ass to Cat’s Sh*t! 😆

quote Hold over:

looks like Im going to have ato spend a good buck to get one which works good.

No way around it I guess.

The main issue about the AF scopes is their price. If they were priced about 75% less than what AF is asking for them, they’d probably be considered fairly capable in a “shoulder-shrugging” way. But AF apparently thinks that putting their logo on the things makes them the cats-ass.

There are dozens of decent choices out there that are at the same price-point as the AF models.

Ok thanks guys , Im hearing a lot of negitve on them , Im gonna pass on the AF scope

Are these scopes not used for finishing off your prey??
Can’t imagine anyone actually ‘looking’ down one….. 😆 😆

That’s the firse time I’ve heard anything good about them. Ever. Lots of bad though. Like non repeatable adjustments. Zero shift, elevation and windage nobs getting loose or just flat falling off. Optics leaving a lot to be desired for the price.

Not for me.

Mike

i have the AirForce 4-16x50AO Rifle Scope, Mil-Dot Reticle, 1/4 MOA, 1″ Tube on a blizzard S10 and works great also my dad and his buddy have them on the talon ss so they got to work great if we are knocking squirrels down any were from 20 yards to 100 yards using 2 mil dots. really heavy clicks hands down great scope.
