Q:

AirForce SuperSear from AOA (Custom Parts)

Except for the harsh AF trigger, my Stubby with the hi-flo valve and 12″ 177 barrel is dynamite with JSB 10.34 pellets. The Maddog stock lets it shoot regular 1/2″ groups at 50 yards but the trigger really sux. I would really like to lighten up the trigger quite a bit. Is this product worthwhile or worthless? Are there better alternatives that don’t include shipping the gun off, etc.? I know the deal on Custom Parts from AOA. Its $55 – easy to install and adjust I hear.

Thanks In Advance!

After about 200 shots now with the new sear in Stubby I’ve come to the conclusion that it is so good I am going to have to pick one up for the Condor .25 with the R&L Extreme valve. It’s hard to shoot after shooting Stubby now. 😯

Oh Hell. 😯 That’s almost cute! Can a gun be cute? 😳 😆

I just finished adjusting and it is very good. I used the original spring in the gun. There isn’t a lot of adjustment in the first stage so it is short as I prefer it. I have the 2nd stage set at about 12-13 ozs like my other adjustable trigger guns. I could not get the gun to go off by banging it on the ground, etc. so the sear setup seems pretty solid. I see where they heat treated the sear. Maybe the one that broke had something done incorrectly in the heating dept.??? Other than that I don’t see how it can break. I loaded the sear point with moly lube as suggested.

Stubby’s back online! Now why doesn’t the factory do this?

Recommended…. 🙂

Did you use the included spring or the spring installed in the gun?

Well I just put the new sear in but have not adjusted it yet. There is no 1st stage yet and about 1.5 lbs. on the second. Its already eons better than the stock one. I’ll adjust it in a bit.

Sooooo… Is it in yet? Results? Been following the thread waiting for the outcome… before I order! 🙄

I hope it don’t break – its already Stubby. 🙂

Yep, AOA said NO Warranty when mine broke. Some how the manufacturer found out about my plight, and sent me an email. He sent out a replacement post haste! 😀

Can’t ask for more than that. Both He, and our own Dyotat, along with AOA said that they had never heard of one breaking. I’m just lucky that way. 😳 😆

Received it today. That was fast…. USPS

So use the original spring to achieve a light second stage. I’ll try it….

I had some sparrow Olympics going on today with the Stubby so I will take her offline and put up the Cricket. 😛 I have airgun at the ready on an indoor bench rest waiting for unsuspecting quarry. 😉

Cool. I ordered it today…

I’ve heard the AoA Super Sear now has a ‘quiet’ warranty, Knife can elaborate. 😉

Now that puts the ❗ ❗ ❗ ❗ ❗ in BLING

Sweeeeet-ness. :8:

All of my adjustable triggers second stages are set to 12 oz on most of my PBs and air guns. I made my own trigger shoe out of brass. Also, the end cap and Breech knob.

the super sear will come with a heavy replacement spring. If used, this will keep the pull weight about the same as now. I used the factory springs and have about a 12oz pull on the second stage.

A HUGE help is one of WOK’s triggers. 😀

One of these days when the cash is a little bit more available 😥 I’m going to have to outfit the rest of my AF guns with it. :8:

R&L Airgun. It is effective but made from very thin steel and hot blued like a barrel. I replaced the end cap with a brass one along with the trigger shoe and breech knob to contrast the black. The stock makes this gun accurate and removes any frame flex and it feels great. I have it tuned to 890 FPS with the JSB 10.34. I wish it had a gauge but it really isn’t necessary or worth the upgrade IMO. A nice light trigger will make this a great gun for the price (under $1000). Sometimes I like to be dead silent in the backyard and just plink accurately even though I don’t really have to be. I have another much longer R&L shroud on my modded Condor shooting casts and it is still louder than most of my other PCPs. It shoots at 110 FPE so there is a lot of air being released. R&L basically uses the Marauder baffles or very close to them.

I just noticed that R&L started selling a .257 barrel…. Probably a lot better for regular cast bullets although they are advertising it with Kings.
