!2551 and 12552 are just sections prohibiting selling airguns to minors.

For what it’s worth, Federal Law forbids ( prohibits) Air Guns from being deemed fire arms, but Jersey and Mich. just to name a few have ignored the laws

Actually Calif penal code 12001 precludes airguns from being considered a firearm,
Penal code 12500 states silencers for firearms are illegal in Ca.
A call to DOJ weapons division verified it. πŸ˜€

(g) For purposes of Sections 12551 and 12552, the term β€œBB device” means any instrument that expels a projectile, such as a BB or a pellet, not exceeding 6mm caliber, through the force of air pressure, gas pressure, or spring action, or any spot marker gun.

This is with regards to minors though. I wonder what a .25 pellet rifle would be considered… πŸ˜•

Not here! In Texas, we really don’t give a shit. Hell, it’s only a BB gun! πŸ˜† πŸ˜‰

i agree with CO2sniper.

attention should be paid to the possible legal ramifications to something like that. it’s quite possible that the, sick, distorted, stone age legislature state of california will call it a ‘sniper rifle’.

while i see nothing wrong with it (flash suppressor) on an AG, california law does state that ‘any device that diverts, changes or supresses escaping gases or muzzle flash, is construed as being a silencer no matter the design or intent of the manfacturer; air rifles are considered as firearms under california law, as are archery bows.

i read that on the california DOJ website.

my point is: beware of the legalities that may be involved before purchasing or adding something like that…check into it with the local LE (no matter where you live) as it surely will draw attention wherever it shows up.

yeah really- are they serious??? The barrel config is headed in the right direction—(maybe getting rid of some left-over Talon frames).AF should allow a choice of barrel lenghts with any gun they sell….Someone here mentioned factory shroud extension…..excellent idea–wonder –legalities? But seriously -Flash Suppressor—-

my first impression seeing in on pyramyd air is that perhaps they are in with AF on this blinger package. The flash suppression does nothing other than to attract more attention on an already para military style AG…muy macho!. I think it will attract more newbs to AF. I think most of us here would opt for a base gun with spend the extra on a shroud extension / moderator?

Seriously, a flash suppressor?

“Thumbhole stock?”

Spend the money on a one point sling mount / harness like an AR, and improve the factory valve. And the stock shoulder mount is a joke. And why not sell a factory shroud / extension?

Looking at the pictures they used a steady to machine the thread!

Didn’t clean it up to well

Bear in mind that most mod’s you’ll find on the airgun forums are 1/2″ UNF (which is 20 TPI). If they are threading it for a flash hider which are usually 1/2-28… and after checking the link that is what it is threaded for.

Not all that familiar w/ thread pitches, but because it’s 1/2-28 does that mean accs. made for powderburners will fit on it? Also is this a “Pyramid” in house modification available only from them?

It means only things with 1/2-28″ thread will fit. If the gun accessory is 1/2-28 then yes. Every Airgun and rimfire silencer I’m familiar with other than strange metric sizes have been 1/2-20 and every adapter or threaded barrel other than the metric guns have been threaded for 1/2-20.

Its fine if you can find an accessory in 1/2-28 or make your own – but guys thinking of buying this just need to keep the possible difficulty in finding something in mind if they think they can just screw on a mod they bought on the classifieds.

It seems that Pyramid is the only one selling the “Bounty Hunter”….. Bu they are far from only people who can thread a barrel. You can get pretty much any gunsmith and most guys who own a lathe to thread a barrel for you.

The Condor gets the treatment as well.
