Q:

Am I banned at Yellow forum?!

Yes, everybody notices that my topic about EDgun Matador R3, caliber .30 was deleted without any explanations. There was only one — to add GRAFICK to the header, but I told I failed to edit it.

Now I wanted to create a new topic and found that I cannot do it. It said: “Access to this forum is limited. In order to access or read this forum you must be a member. You can apply to one of the groups below.” When I tried to add any of the groups, I found only “Group Application, Membership Closed, Membership into this Group is currently closed.” Is it me stupid unable to make a topic in this forum or something esle?

I’ll refrain from stooping down to your innuendo level. The original idea was great and the man is dead and buried. If the yellow was sold, transferred, whatever it’s a business deal and the new owner can do with it whatever he pleases despite the previous requests. If it was so important to the previous seller, then it would have been stipulated to never charge for the forum but that may have squashed the deal. Perhaps it was for need and want of the previous owners quest for cash that he dropped the ball and the new owners are businessman seeking a profit on their investment of time and money. The yellow is well within their right to charge for their service and for banning anyone for any reason they choose.

Ed and Tony are businessmen and a lot of people on here including you have your heads so far up their ass that you can’t see daylight. Additionally, you nor anyone else is entitled to anything free especially when you are making a profit such as a manufacturer. If you are a consumer then the service is free which is very nice of the Yellow to support your activities. And the manufacturers support you and the Yellow with their advertisements so that it can support the Yellow to allow you free use. So, you should thank the advertisers for making the forum free and allowing the yellow enough revenue and profit to maintain, monitor and innovate while creating a viable marketplace.

The most asinine statement you made was that Tony or Ed doesn’t use plants. I never said they did but regardless whether he does or doesn’t, you don’t know for certain either way. That is unless of course your head is so far up his butt you can see and monitor everything through his eyes. Is that the case? As far as the current owner verifying users through phone calls, I believe you are mistaken in that they only do that if you request seller status. Anyone can register multiple hobbyist accounts. There are people who have access to programs that hide IP address and have multiple accounts hailing from different points in the USA while sitting at a single computer in one location.

The fact that Ed doesn’t support the Yellow speaks volumes on his behalf. In fact, the sound is deafening. He thinks enough of the yellow to want to promote his products on there but not enough to advertise and support your use of it nor support the yellow in support of the hobby.

You have totally misunderstood what I said… πŸ˜•

Innuendo?

I was actually saying you have a great sense of fairness and a remarkable capability for deep observation.

It was a compliment. But now i’m thinking I spoke too soon… Your inability to understand simple english is astounding.

And your right, I can’t prove anyone’s not a plant.

You’re sounding an awful lot like a Yellow forum owner plant right about now… 😐

Your head appears to be shoved up the Yellow owner’s ass so far you can’t see daylight.

Compliment, now you’re trying to blow smoke up my butt. You’re a horses rump for thinking you can BS your way through this one. You plainly stated, “Take your keen ability to observe and dissect then direct it towards the forum that is being discussed. You may be shocked at what you discover”. That was clearly a snide remark. So, take your crap and shove where the sun never shines. Furthermore, it’s sad that you have such limited vocabulary and creativity that you have to quote my statements to rebutt. Take your sophomorpic attitude and go back to hiding behind your computer. Freaking pinhead.

Ed’s Avatar is missing….

Ed is a nice guy and Steve is power hungry butt head business aside (from many personal emails with both). He is setting more unwritten regulations than Obama. Blowing off his own credo of the original owner. It has become to much for him and is hampering the decision process and deteriorating the quality of the forum. That said I ran a forum and the Yellow is too unwieldy in it’s current outdated format but he isn’t the right person for the thankless job.

quote synopsys:

The Yellow forum was about letting airgun enthusiasts (users, collectors, builders) contact each other free of charge. It was not free to build a base, it was free because the original owner wanted it to be and to remain as such after his passing. When it was handed over to the owner before this owner the soul of the idea was passed on as a promise to a dying man. The current owner accepted the responsibility of keeping it in the memory of the original founder and then decided to cash in because it was taking up too much of his time.

Or so the saga goes…

Tony doesn’t use plants, tricks or anything else, he has no need to push the sale of EdGuns, they sell themselves. The current Yellow owner screens every poster through phone calls, he knows their real name and address effectively eliminating the problem of plants and fake postings. Tony is the ONLY distributor of EdGuns in the USA.

The format is totally obsolete, but I believe the hosting service is free or close to it… Moving it would mean spending more time working on the forum.

Take your keen ability to observe and dissect then direct it towards the forum that is being discussed. You may be shocked at what you discover. πŸ˜‰

Someone other than Ed made a post about the new R3M and it was deleted quickly probably because it said the new model was about to come out and they should contact Tony (even though the post was not posted by Tony). Which is strange because it was NOT an advertisement and it was NOT a sales post. It was simply an enthusiast of airguns and EdGuns expressing their excitement about a new model that was about to come out and telling people if they wanted one to email Tony. Funny, posts about deals at WalMart don’t get deleted and WalMart sure as fuck don’t pay to advertise on the Yellow. The plethora of rules (including banning the mention of certain people) and the collection of money for advertising has made it difficult for free/honest discussion to occur without issues..

I believe that the original intent of the Yellow forum was to provide a medium (free of charge) for owners and makers of airguns to interact/sell and network. The rules are “enforced” equally for everyone but one or two exceptions; DaveG, he is a small scale manufacturer that sells his guns on the Yellow and does not pay to advertise. I believe Chavka stocks is also similar but he does not sell his stocks openly on the forum although he does show them often and has his contact information in his posts.

It is only very recently that the “memorial” Yellow is a pay to play forum from a manufacturer standpoint. The time to maintain the forum was the reasoning for collecting advertising revenue.

Upside is IF you pay to advertise you can have negative posts about your products removed at will (censored). This was done very effectively with the FX bullpup when it was introduced. Someone posted the FX pup they made that the owner of FX saw at the AZ benchrest match and said he would NEVER make a bullpup. Coincidentally the mag was stored in the side of the buttstock… 😐 That said the Yellow owner has every right to do what he did because it is his forum.

The larger issue with the Yellow is the forum providers (network54) are anti-gun. Their revenue stream is collected via hits to their servers and the Yellow provides lots and lots of hits. Every time we click there we give people who believe they have a right to control our actions more and more money.

If I had the Yellow and claimed to be pro-gun (and put my collected advertising money where my mouth was) i’d move the site to a provider that was not so openly anti-gun or openly pro-gun yesterday… It’s not like I wouldn’t have any MONEY to do it. πŸ™„

Shit, we just switched and NOBODY pays to advertise here.

You have to take many posts with a grain of salt because the person you are referring to may have been a plant. When you make a post, it references your IP address. If you post as X and then post as Y, the forum owner knows where the posts originated. If you made two posts from the same IP address then you are most probably the same person. If you post from work as one person and then post from home as another person, then it’s not so easy to distinguish for the two.

The Yellow may have started out as a free site to build up a base. Like any business, you need revenue to survive and stay in business. Without revenue, there is no business. You cannot fault the Yellow for wanting to charge for advertising and clamping down on free promotions of manufacturers by manufacturers. Without revenue there is little incentive to maintain and support a web site and the Yellow is beyond the point of being fun to own.

Personally, the format is obsolete and cumbersome to use. If I owned the forum, I would go to a format similar to this forum.

And that’s my 3 cents.

Would you believe I can now get on the yellow again? 😯

Don’t know why I couldn’t, and don’t know why I can now. πŸ˜•

Ed, you do fine work. And you don’t need the headaches of the Yellow. But you are an AirGun nut and have just as much right to talk about airguns as anyone else. Talking sales is one thing, but you have every right to talk AG’s whether you make them or not!

I’ve run into the same kind of thing myself., and have been doing it a LOT longer. think 40+ years making Knives. Seemed at one time, everybody wanted a piece of the action.

Hello Ed, I was thrilled to see your post on the Yellow…and it was gone fast.
Why can’t the MOD just add the graphic warning?
And why can’t i get a gawd dang Leyla mk3?

I’ll take the contrarian approach. Ed is a manufacturer. Why should he get free publicity and advertise his wares for free when other advertisers have to pay?! Why should Ed feed off the Yellow’s members and the owners costs of running the site when as a manufacturer, he’s making money from that exposure? I applaud the Yellow’s decision to enforce their rules equally for everyone. However, I still think they are a tad too anal over there.

There comes a point in life when one should add value to the system and not just feed off it. Hmmmmmm!

What a novel idea.

Klaw-kalash! That Steve seems to be a real dick. We have one of those kinds of forums in Sweden too and i got banned from there. Twice … Some guys have the urge to boss around while in Cyberspace. They are most probably heavily whipped at home and got their lunch money stolen while in school.
Internet NaziΒ΄s and Cyberspace tough guys…

No Soup for you! 10 months!!!!

I can no longer get on the yellow, and have no idea what I did wrong. I do know that the owner was a real prick when I first tried to join. He is his own worst enemy!. πŸ‘Ώ
