Am I missing something…..
why do some people use a one-piece mount when there’s no recoil? Also, what is that extra mount that I see sometimes? It looks like a solid one-piece with no scope rings. What is the average scope height with high mounts? Thanks! I am still trying to decide if the Talon ss is right for me.

It is all about rigidity baby!.
Airforce screwed up when they designed the Talon scope rail frame and made it to thin. Instead of altering the design they sell you a tri rail. They eliminated this problem with the new Edge model.
if you use a one piece, is there any reason to have the tri-rail? Or vice versa?
You use one piece mounts because the scope rail flexes a lot, and a one piece will keep your POI from changing.

I have the Accushot high one piece mount on my gun and my scope is about 3″ above the barrel.

Never understood why they mill the rail so thin, and the cut out under the breach is cut way too deep. This is an area that need to be rigid.No cut out is really needed. Just enough o be able to seat the pellet
