American made Blodnod info Compilation to date .
I figured all of the info could be put in one place to prevent it being lost in many seperate posts and easy to find….Add info if you have it…Hopefully this will help those that are struggling with getting the valve tuned to it’s peak performance….

Taking the old valve out of the bottle. I used a 10/32 cap screw about 3″
long, put the head of the screw in the round hole opposite the burst disk.
Held the tank on my thigh and tapped the screw (as a lever) with a
plastic head mallet. 3 strikes and the valve started turning out.
Install of the new valve was straightforward. Thread in, use a strap
wrench to tighten. Filled the bottle to 3000psi.
Left the rifle as is, standard spring, pw 10, standard weight hammer with
Condor striker weight. Combined weight about 68 grams.
Fired 3 kodiaks over the chrony (.25 caliber).

I usually get around 965-975 with the old valve and this hammer/spring
setup.
I cant find my heavy hammer, so I pulled the barrel out and installed the
MEGA spring Brad supplied.
The spring Brad supplies does not fit over the extended part of the power
wheel, so you start with about 5/8″ preload with the PW at 0.
Holy shit, I fuckin near broke my thumb trying to cock this thing. PW=0
and it barely cocked.
Afraid the trap would slam on my thumb, I loaded a kodiak, and shot.
BOOOOM!!!!

Cant adjust down, so I loaded up a 43 gr EunJin. Shot, looked at
chrony…
1032fps. Fired 2 more
1029fps
1028fps Wasnt really paying attention to the target, looked thru scope
and saw a ragged hole at 50yards.
Jesus… I barely broke past 880fps with these before. When they hit the
target you could tell there was some friggin energy being delivered.

Using a 75gm hammer with standard spring I was gaining maybe 15fps

Im thinking my original spring is getting worn out, taken a set or

Before I did any shooting today, I wanted to see exactly how far out the
tophat could go before bypassing the oring. It looked like I was on the
ragged edge, so I turned the tophat in 2 turns. Setting my old valve side
by side with Brads, I had Brads tophat out considerably further, by .101″
I measured from where the bottle contacts the flange on the valves out
to the step on the tophat and compared the 2.
After adjusting the tophat, I filled to 3000psi and started to shoot a
string.

The valve apparently opens just fine at 3000psi, there is no hint of a bell-
curve.
Looking at the valve, the tophat oring looked fine but there was a lot of
lube covering the tophat. I pulled the breech and saw the tophat ends
oring was in there, but appeared to be distorted and didnt completely fill
the groove.
The breech oring failed on the tophat end. I measured my old tophat OD
at .310″ Brads valve measures .306″
Im not sure if .004 is enough to make the oring fail or not, they were
90D rings I got from Tony.
I replaced both orings in the breech and reassembled the rifle. Shot once
and there were no leaks however more silicone lube from the orings was
blown onto the tophat.
Im going to try this valve on my SS next and see if the same thing
happens.

I just ground it down until the extended part was about 1/16″ long.
Enough of a shoulder for the standard spring to fit over, and the new
spring jsut sits flush with it.
Im still gonna design a lever cocking mech. Ill see what i come up with
when I get back to work.

With the standard condor valve, pw=4 I was hitting 800fps.
This valve is consistent as any out there, but does need more *smack*
to reach its potential.
So far no more breech ring failures.

consistant 760FPS…I can only imagine that i would get 200+ shots out of a 4,500psi fill….
I started this string at 3,200psi
Top hat @ 0.260
and PW 10/10
