Q:

an even more refined condor tune…

I decided to try adding an o-ring behind the tophat to see what it would do. Apparently it further refined the tune by flattening the curve, lowering standard deviation by 60% and extreme spread by 50%, used less air, AND got one more shot? How is this possible?

Yep, I think you nailed it. Seems to stop the hammer bounce. Also seems to even out slightly different hammer hits. (as to the different amounts of energy between hammer hits)

All I know is that it works. The only one I ever heard of that it didn’t work for was Walter. But you know Walter. He doesn’t like things simple. 😆

powderburner gave a good explanation but I forget.

We know it helps quiet the action so I think that it dampens hammer/breech bounce lessening a second strike that could release additional air.
